Very nice collections of those Effelder farm-birds Thomas, but you were near to the source, even when you started to collect them after the reunion of Germany.
Very strange to hear that many of those items were not even available for DDR people, because of the price, and their incomes...

I think, i bought them from you in the past Thomas, haha.
And i saw already in that time, that there were many variations, but i am not sure if i want them all, i do collect some other stuff too you know, haha.

Wow, - you must really be an expert to spot those, - how or where did you find them, If I may ask

Well, Thomas is from the area in Germany, which was the former DDR Susanne, that is first...
But besides that, he didn't see the most of the VEB Plaho figurines, after the wall came down, as there was limited access for "normal" people in the former DDR.
So he had to hunt for most of the stuff to, but had the good adresses at the right time i guess, in the beginning of freedom...

I collect only been about 8 years. The most I got from Ebay.
As Willy said already, even before 1990, most of which I unfortunately do not know.

I believe that without Ebay the toys I had never learned to know well.

I think, you are not the only one around here Thomas, we all learned a lot over e-bay, about most of the brands...

Here are two geese biting. The painted goose is the elder. Over the years "saved" just about all companies in the GDR in the paint.
This biting goose reminds me of my time in the army. There I observed the SR-71 NATO code "Blackbird". For us it was "Jastreb". The pilots in the vicinity of London (Alconbury - I remember me) often started robbing me of sleep.
