| Here is my latest addition which I searched (for a decent price) since a long time now. This Mountain gorilla is a part of the Starlux WWF series made in 1982. A few pics?

| I really don't know, why so many of you love this vintage stuff? Ok, the pose is nice, but there is actually no fur, not really a face and it have a really bad painting. _________________ Find me on Instagram

| It's a matter of taste. That's okay if you don't like them. Personally, I like models better without texture, I think the face on this model is excellent, and the paintwork is quite good, much better than even some modern figures. I like this one better than current Schleichs. |

| Modern stuff is an illusion It will stay modern a few years and soon become vintage So why some people love old cars, old style houses or ancient cities as much or more than today's cars, houses or cities? Why the Lascaux cavern's paintings are still an impressive and moving sight ? I love as much hollowcast lead, composition, hard plastic or pvc toys. I love each style for different reasons. I think there are different ways for beauty and I'm happy I can really enjoy some of them. This vintage gorilla was made when I was 18 years old, I feel very vintage myself and I wish the 2015 models a love story as looooooong as this oldies |

| Wow, I love this Christophe! So jealous... (seriously jealous). Wonderful photographs, as always. The figure is gorgeous. Such great movement in the sculpt. And the proportions are just fantastic. This is a marvelous Starlux. Amazing find. Congratulations! |

| Great addition to your collection, the gorilla is a great example of simplified design while retaining the essence of what a gorilla is.
Even though it is not the most detailed figure, with all the texture, the important anatomical and proportional basics have all been accurately reproduced. I much prefer a figure like this which has proper proportions and great movement over a highly detailed, badly sculpted model. |

| Congratulations on such a fine figure. I think it is sad the original Starlux went out of business when they had really only just been reaching the peak of their skills. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

Ok, the pose is nice, but there is actually no fur, not really a face and it have a really bad painting. Because we're collecting antique toys for their charm and the interest of discovering who made what, as apart from the major brands many were unmarked and nobody knows who made some of them. You might get a better idea of what interests us by reading through the Phillip Segal thread in the vintage UK brands section - and Segal figures were downright cartoony - not realistic at all. OK, so some of the vintage figures are dreadful, especially (as we're on the topic) vintage lead gorillas, where the pose and proportions are totally wrong, more like a man in a joke gorilla suit than a real gorilla. But for a vintage TOY collector that doesn't matter - we're not collecting accurate animal replica models. Some of the current brand figures are way too cutesy to be accurate anyway. |

| This gorilla has been on sale at e.bay for some time.
Link HERE
I wonder, is it a real Starlux?
Could it be a 3D copy of an original?

| It is a Starlux rholing, it seems some models escaped from the factory before painting I've got this gorilla rholing too.

| Oh, I just found this wonderful topic, sorry to come so late here! The gorilla is really beautiful piece, I like the pose, proportions and it's easy to imagine that he's just walking like that in the jungle together with other gorillas from his family. I think it must be one of the most beautiful Starlux models Painting is also very nice. The only thing I dislike in painting is the way someone painted its hands, why are the fingers painted light grey? Thank you for walk around Kikimalou! _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection
