Review of the Safari aardvark, - old versus re-launched model .

The wonderful aardvark from Safari was retired in 2011 after 6 years production, and not long after, it was very hard to find one.  

I was very happy to have this rather rare model, so when it was re-launched here in 2015, I must admit that had mixed feelings    
Couldn't they have made a different aardvark ?  

But perhaps it was just a little different ? A variation ? I had to get one to compare  
And YESSSS  !!! There IS a difference ! Look at the eyes

The material also has a slightly different colour
Taking pictures of exact colours is almost impossible, - perhaps your screen shows anothe colour tham mine does  
But I hope this shows that the new one is lighter, almost a little "pink" compared to the older one

But there is more !
Isn't the new one slimmer than the old one ?

The wonderful aardvarks thought it was enormously funny to be measured

Yes ! When measured right behind the front legs, the old one is 2,3 cm, and the new one is 2,0 cm

The last difference I found was their foreheads. The new one as a more flat upper forehead

Of course it could be that one of mine is a production-variation, - perhaps other happy owners of this charming model will take a look at it ?

Very interesting seeing a comparison between these two! Looks like the mold is very worn out by now too. Congrats!

Incredible Susanne! You always can see so many differences. Particularly interesting that of the shape of the forehead. That's the same mould, surely they retouched it a little to start new production. The most important is that this is enough to turn them in two different collectibles.
