| I just saw that Yowie is reborn and entering the US market this spring. Supposedly most Walmart stores will be carrying. I opened three and got one of the goofy Yowie creatures, then a European Rabbit then an African Grass Owl (a new species for me). These two are very nice models. They are one-piece rather than the Aussie kits. It's a very heavy plastic that almost seems like resin (but pretty sure it isn't). Some photos: The Owl: The Rabbit: Unfortunately I'm finding hardly any other info online. The official site for the relaunch www.yowieworld.com has a bunch of online games and other flash stuff focusing on the special characters rather than the animals and no checklist or photos that I could see. According to Wikipedia, here is the first series checklist: African Grass Owl Alpaca American Bison Brown Bear Caracal Common Clownfish Emperor Penguin European Rabbit Fennec Fox Galapagos Tortoise Giant Anteater Giant Panda Gray Wolf North American Beaver Platypus Polar Bear Red Kangaroo Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat BTW, the chocolate is pretty awful with a definite "plasticy" after-taste (the same taste I imagine the plastic capsule must have). The little insert booklet has info on the animal and (yet more) info on the goofy special Yowie creatures. I'd love to try to piece together the set and will keep my eyes open for these in stores. If anyone does the same and wants to trade just let me know! |

| Can't they introduce Yowie to Europe as well? I love these two figurines and I saw some (to me) interesting species in the checklist. I'd love to see some more of them, thanks for sharing!! |

| Thanks - hopefully they'll make it to Europe as well. Their current marketing here in the States does strike me as a little strange. They seem to be targeting the Saturday morning cartoon crowd with the focus on the goofball imaginary characters. Given the decent quality of the replicas, I'd think they would be better served targeting the "animal nerds." Hopefully they don't fail and think there isn't a market elsewhere! |

| Wow Wonderful models! It's so sad about taste of chocolate, but I hope you will be able to find such eggs. | Thanks everyone - I'll try to pick them up when I see them so should have a few extras. Sorry to hear of past problems with the company. Hopefully they get their act together and survive long enough to release some of the more obscure species of the old Yowies with the new quality. |

| That's very interesting and figures are lovely! I have two questions. Are these figures numbered as it happens with other Yowies series? The other question is... is the fennec the same that we can find in Yowies UK collection? Thanks! |

| Roger, I don't think they are numbered. I wondered the same about the UK release but unfortunately don't have unfortunately don't have any of those to compare. I'm hoping to pull a Caracal since there is a photo on the UK version on Wiki.
Agree LeeAnn, but hopefully they'll take off enough that people will have singles for sale affordably.
I did see an article that Cadbury plans to (re)expand to Europe and the Middle East next. |

| Okay, so i finished opening a box of 12 with the "Best by" date of May 2016. Here's the distribution:
European Rabbit: 3 African Grass Owl: 1 American Bison: 1 Emperor Penguin: 1 Giant Anteater: 1 Polar Bear: 1 Red Kangaroo: 1 Yowie - Crag: 1 Yowie - Boof: 1 Yowie - Squish: 1
Not too bad, hopefully they've improved over some of the earlier problems reported. That's still three "Yowies" more than I'd want and the three rabbits in a single box are a bit concerning. I'd love to hear others' results as they find them. |
