| I was in love the minute I got him The campolina stallion is so completely enchanting, that no matter the few weaknesses, I am totally in love Let's take the weak points now in order to get over with it and then forget it The worst thing is that he has a problem standing. It is like they made the legs on the left side shorter then the right side, - and as he also turns his head to the left, he keeps falling on his nose Poor darling ! He already has some paint-loss on the beautyful noze The other thing is just a detail . He is supposed to be a red dun, but the dorsal stripe is too weak for a dun horse. Perhaps he should also have had some beige in the top of the tail and the side of the mane, - even a few stripes on the back of the knees...but not all duns have that. The rest is just sheer joy [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Above : Another gaited horse, - the Schleich Tennessee Walker - has become his friend, and shows his size A couple of pictures of him in all his glory : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And now to some details : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A nice touch. He has a huge mane, so he has been shaved behind the ears to make the neck-band of his bridle lie nicely : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| So glad a Campolina is made in the major brands He's clearly not a correct red dun, as you said, but it's an excellent sculpt and I'll have fun painting him |

| I start to like the Collecta horse models more and more. This model is veeeery beautiful....I just love this head :)) Your negative points are very right.... I think the standing problem is commingalso from the material, which Collecta using... I have problem with my Dartmoor Pony for example... His legs are also very fine..and he doesn`t stand perfectly. I think , the material is very soft for that kind of legs. Perhaps Collecta has to use more strong - hard material for models like this..... Like Papo for example. They use diferent material for some models... Thank you for these beautiful photos Susanne :) |

| I have already presented my huge enthusiasm about this figure. As I enjoy new species in wild life collections, I think it is also very interesting for horse collectors to have less known breeds. Why 10 Arabians and why not less 3 or 4 and open room to new breeds? Also, peculiar looking breeds are more interesting to me. Some breeds look alike in toy shape, this convex nose of Campolinas, give them a very particular touch. It may look strange to many people but surely interesting to equine lovers. I find the figure very beautiful, very horsey and the pose is simple but elegant. Thanks for your great pictures! |

| Congratulations! Very nice model, I like horses with convex profile - they look majestically, and your new guy is proof of that. _________________ I have two main passions: collecting and drawing animals Ars Animalium = Animal Art [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Ars Animalium on facebook I am Ars Animalium on Insta |

| Thank for such detailed photos, Susanne! | Beautiful! I also love the convex "Roman" nose. I think it is very regal. The CollectA standardbred also has one to a lesser degree, which is realistic for that breed as well. Many real horse people in my area call it "ugly" when they see it in the standardbred harness racers, but I think they are just so used to seeing quarter horses and arabians that they haven't developed an appreciation for this classical trait. Congrats on the great model! I love his wonderful details. _________________ Jessica Schleich | Safari Ltd. | CollectA | Papo | Mojö Fun | Bullyland | Yowie | Little Critterz | Breyer | et al...

Yes, we see that "roman" nose on many old paintings, but the modern breeds rarely have it, except for heavy horses. Perhaps they associate it with a draft horse ? We saw something a bit similar in Iceland. The roan colour was being bred out of the Iceys. The reason was that it used to mainly be the horses from the north being roan, and they were most often the heavier, pacey pack-type , and not riding horses. So people "saw" a heavy horse with unpleasant gaits when they saw a roan, - no matter how elegant and well gaited it was. Well, the Europeans began to pay a lot of money for good, roan Iceys, - that fixed it |

I love seeing good bone in a cold breed, although I can see how "paciness" would be undesirable for riding. _________________ Jessica Schleich | Safari Ltd. | CollectA | Papo | Mojö Fun | Bullyland | Yowie | Little Critterz | Breyer | et al...

A horse of, say, 1,25 m should be able to easily carry a man of 1,80 for hours through mountains and vucanic ashes. And I can't help smiling when you call them a cold breed. The best riding horses have names after vucanoes, geisers etc, - they are enormously fast and nimble, and react to the slightest movement in the saddle. They will go on till they almost drop dead, if you ask them to, but stop immediately when you sit up in the saddle. I have often seen top-competition riders of large horses come back, starry-eyed and full of wonder after their first ride on an icey. You must consider how Iceland looked just 50 - 60 years ago. There were no roads, - no horse carriages either , and enormous distances in very rough landscape. All transport was on horseback, often by barely visible tracks through incredibly tough ground and weather. The horses used for transport of goods over long distances were packed with boxes and bags, and then had to quietly plot along, - sometimes 20 after each other, with just a rider in the front and one bringing up the rear. They could not use vulcano-horses for that. If they began running, both horses and the much-needed, precious goods might be lost. Fortunately both types still exist. You can't put a beginner, a child or an old woman like me on a "vulcano" !!! A side-remark : The natural variation means that there may come lazy, stubborn offspring if you breed for sturdy, quiet ones. And the vulcano-type offspring may be sheer hysterical and good for nothing. In iceland the selection is bone-hard : I many farms app 80 % of a new generation is eaten, just as they do with sheep ! Tough, yes !!! But it has worked for 1000 years. The problem in other countries is that some people use the breeding tactic : "If you can't ride it , you can use it for stud." Ups ! Sorry !!! Now I got going about Iceys , and this was about the Campolina |

| What a beautiful figure ! Will have to snag one for my ever growing herd of Collecta minions ^^
As for the leg problem, I've successfully straightened Collecta legs with a hair dryer in the past. Just heat it a little, pull it how it should be and set in ice cold water. _________________ Lythrum Collection Model horses and other figures

| Thank you very much for sharing this model with us He is pretty. It is truly a big shame with the issues for him not to stand and the paintjob could have been more interesting. _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

| Great photos !!! Of course I don't mind, - new photos always bring new angles And your horse stands straight , - so he CAN do it It is weird, my Austarlian horse also drops to one side, - and the Darmoor looks like a moulding mistake, - I am NOT lucky with CollectA horses |
