| HOLY HAMSTER ! You even have a tattoo of one Such beautyful models, - please can you tell us somethiong about them [quote="AlphaMareArt"]I"m really curious that if socks are genetically impossible, how these 2 horses have them? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The black one might be a minimal tobiano, but more likely a cross, whith those long legs, small head and short back . The chestnut could be a heterozygote Splashed White. Or just one of nature's way to trick us. We have even seen chestnut/black tobianos, ei chestnut tobianos where the marks are black !!!! I have never heard of an icey which has socks that are inherited as such. |

| Well the black is listed as a purebred on this site [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Another example can be found here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] And here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]So I would call it extremely rare but not impossible |

| My first large Breyer Icelandic horse : 1754 Svalin frá Tjörn [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Strange hole he has in the corner of his mouth in the left side only [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Has Breyer made tack for him ? The name Svalinn ( should really be spelled with 2 "n's" ) was a shield in front of the sun in old Norse mythology Tjörn is the name of the place he was borne ( frá just means "from" ) |

| That's a very recognizable Fjordey Icey , no doubts that these horses have their own distinct conformation, contrarily to several continental European breedsthat look all the same. Curiously, checking the Wikipedia article in many other languages, we find Svalin with a single N although it is evident that the correct way is with a double nn as you mentioned. Always learning with you, the Danish lady with a double NN. |

| Congratulations Susanne! How wonderful Icelandic horse He has lovely colour and a nice name sunny too About the little hole in the mouth corner of this model, I think the plastic that Breyer uses must have contact with air, from both sides. I'm not sure if I'm right but I think it's to prevent the plastic from getting the "vinegar syndrome". | Thankyou, dear Roger and Anna Anna, that article is very intresting, - so cold and dry storage should prolong the life time of Breyer horses. Only...how many people have such a place ? |

| Oh, he is lovely Susanne, congrats! I really like the color and shading on this one. I saw an Elska in person but the white was not overly impressive to me, at least not on this mold. This soft shaded bay seems to suit him very well. _________________ Jessica Schleich | Safari Ltd. | CollectA | Papo | Mojö Fun | Bullyland | Yowie | Little Critterz | Breyer | et al...

| A stablemate ICey? I see! This is surely a curious pair and not so usual in stablemate size. Thanks for sharing one more Icey in your collection. |

| I'm avoiding most of the horse topics on the 'show us yours' section, because I've got too many to post without it being an overwhelming and annoying flood of models, but Icelandics I've got just about a manageable number of! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Julip (the mould was sculpted as a new forest, but as Julips are made as one-offs however you like them, we tend to create breeds which don't officially exist in the range by ordering a relevant colour on whatever mould matches closest!)
