Collecta 2011 Photos from London Toy Fair

Hi all

I have just posted pictures of new models seen at the London Toy fair by Papo and Schleich. This is the last lot of photos from the Collecta supplier in the UK.

They had just a small stand on display with the Collecta Box sets only, no individual models and not all the new models were visible. I did however see the new deer and manatee family sets and the new seal and I must say they were all lovely, especially the Manatee.

They are all more or less the same size as past/existing Schleich models and so will fit in perfectly! The manatee is really impressive, well sculpted, intricate detail in its skin and much better than the Schleich one.

I do think that the Collecta Penguin is an exact copy of the recently retired Schleich penguin from 08/09....

Looking at this pics, I really like the sea lion here, and dislike the deer. Is the deer's mouth so blushingly pink in real life? Or is it just an effect of your photo flash?

By the way, was there smth else interesting at CollectA stand? Some handout materials, booklets, posters maybe?

Yes the deer does have a pink fleshy mouth unfortunately.

There was nothing else available. They gave me a copy of the collecta catalogue but it was the 2010 edition! Even the UK supplier didnt the 2011 one. The stand wasnt a Collecta one but for a UK toy distributor so they didnt have any other information to hand out unfortunately.

Nice to share my findings with you all....we are a right little community now aren't we? I hope we grow big enough for all these companies to start talking/liaising/taking an interest in us....lets see....

I have the Schleich and the CollectA penguins and are not a copy! The Schleich penguin is a King painted in Emperor while the CollectA is a real Emperor! Even poses and scales are slightly different!
Fortunately the general sizes are similar to Schleich like the sizes of Schleich are similar to other older brands!

I consider the male deer to be in a very uncomfortable pose for bugling...you try and yell with your head turned?

Otherwise they are "cute" figures...
I own one Papo, the beautiful tigress carrying her cub and my one and only CollectA is a Gorgeous Suchosauras ~ I mean Sarcosuchus...If they didn't write it on the figure I would always have a terrible time with this one, so I call him Rogerio!



The detail on the Sarcosuchus is amazing!

Are you finding the dinosaurs detail to be better than the forest life?

:lol:You only need to want CollectA to have it, I think in April I'll have all range in a local shop! I can find already nice figures as the mute swan, the cutest and small barn owl, flamingo, etc. You know my mail!:)
I need a deer but I'm not able to like any deer of any brand and bugling is not my favourite pose! But if you look well for your suchussaurus you will see Roger bugling with the head turned and he looks confortable!

I would love to add these sea cow family as well.

By the way, I am just wondering why nobody has ever made any Dugong yet?

As usual, the Japanese made Dugongs. At least, COLORATA, KAIYODO and TAKARA. I only have the TAKARA, here are they :

I'm not sure it would happen.

Manatees and dugongs are too closed species... But maybe another company could make a dugong and no manatee ? :)

It is a manatee Sergey, the dugong has a different tail !
