It is said that Margay is one of only two cat species with the ankle flexibility necessary to climb head-first down trees (the other being the clouded leopard although the poorly studied marbled cat may also have this ability). It is remarkably agile; its ankles can turn up to 180 degrees, it can grasp branches equally well with its fore and hind paws and he has been observed to hang from branches with only one foot.
Margay is in fact a very beautiful cat. I like the pose, it ressembles the pose of the Bayala cheetah though, maybe not a very good pose for such a small figurine? Maybe the pose of the Mojö clouded leopard could work better with this species.
Very beautiful and fascinating cat. What an amazing colours and beautiful silhouette
But about what you say about climbing down the trees with a head-first down, I think domesticated cats can do it also. I'm sure I have seen some doing so

Yes they can. My Siameses could do it when they were young, but it was more like a "supported fall", and not very elegant
Thankyou Rogério, Susanne and Anna for your so contributive comments!!!
I will select a posture that allows to reflect how gracile and elegant is this cat. However, It would be difficult to reflect his true personality standing on the floor, as Margay is believed to spend its entire life in the trees, leaping after and chasing birds and monkeys through the treetops.
I am well aware about the incredible abilities of domestic cats and I am no surprised they can climb down the trees with a head-first down. However, I heard that Margays, clouded leopards and Marble cats can do this slower (even stopping,to take a look, like squirrels). In any case domestic cats are continuously under our scrutiny and we well know their abilities. Seen a Margay living in his natural environment wouldn´t be not so easy. I am quite sure we hardly can imagine what the can really do....LOOK AT THIS!!!
Do they chase monkeys? I am afraid they're not allowed in this forum! I like the pose and I understand, they climb down trees with head first almost as they were walking in a vertical surface. I can do it myself because I have a hospital not too far from here.
I do like the posture of the Margay on the picture. I think it would be wonderful to display your figurine on the branch of a tree. Do you think it's possible?

That posture is walking on a tree branch. FFP collection was thought to be displayed with all figurines standing on the floor. However, I think it will also be possible to take a picture with this margay walking on a tree branch...I´ll see...
