| As far as I know, the only insects that Schleich has made for their animal series, were the mini-insects, which stopped in 1995 . But this year they launced a "Death Valey set", containing three nice desert insecs, and the scull which is also in the "bones" set I like the little hangers that they sell them in, - well, they would be even better if it was possible to close them again...a question of price, I suppose [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Cozy and safe from little, sticky fingers in the shop [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Out in the dangerous world...stay away, vacuumcleanersaurus !!!! | Very nice set Susanne! Thank you for the walk around! I think the scorpion, spider and centipede are nicely made and they are in very nice small size. I especially like the skull, it looks very realistic! _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| That's really a not very Schleichy set. It is very interesting that you point the fact of Schleich never released an Insect series. Actually, none of these are insects in oposition to the minis presented that are insects in fact. Though, that's just a detail, brands use to put lots of non insects in insect series. :) As it has an evident geographic reference "Detah Valley", I'd love to know if these figures represent real species from that region. Someone knows? I cannot even identify the skull. Thanks for great pictures and Hurray for new Schleich sets! |

| I'm impressed. For their size they are very detailled and the scull ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: I think, it is from a cow, nothing special) looks very good. _________________ Find me on Instagram

| Nice walkaround Susanne. I'm so happy it solved a great mystery for me: Why Safari Ltd began to make white or green variations now... Schleich stole the Black paint's barrel |

Thanks Bonobo, just a cow? I thought it was the Devil itself. - SUSANNE wrote:

Roger, - good that you remind me - again - that these are not insects but Arthropods. But aren't we we many who call all kinds of cribly-crawly insects, - I never heard an layman talk about Arthropods

:lol!!: Yes, nobody call them like that. It is like dinos, we call everything that is prehistoric a dino and then there is someone saying: - pterosaurs are not dinos... neither mosasaurs, ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, not even the famous saltoposuchus. So what are they... arthropods? |

| I hadn't paid much attention to this set, but your pictures show just how small and thin the sculptures are, for Schleich. This is a promising sign of what could be done in sets like this (the little gerbils are, too). I think some small songbirds at a bird bath or feeder would be perfect in this format and work with both the woodland and horse/domestic lines.
I like the skull- it looks like it would make a good bison skull, at about the right scale to the live bison figures. _________________ - Andy

| I didn't realize this set had been reviewed. I do want to make one correction, that is not a centipede but rather a millipede (which are so very rarely made in toy form!). |
