| Ok So i decided to collect Safari Dogs, as they are easily avalible around where i live (In fact, i can get almost the entire Collection from the stores where i live) Now i think that this brand has some good dogs, with some distinctive breeds. I hope to see the collection grow in the future. and i look forward to getting the Bulldog for 2016 First up is the Collie Now I never been up close to a real Collie in my life(I seen some in peoples back yards). When People see a collie, they think of lassie, but when my dad saw one, he thinks of the time he was attacked by one as a child. Yes, my dad was attacked by one of these beautiful dogs, and he forever labeled them as mean as Pit Bulls. Personally, im not afraid of any dog, when i see dog barking at me while approaching, I just stand still to see if it will attack, bark, or just calm down in curiosity. Anyways, here is the Safari Best in Show Dogs Collie [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Congrats Takama,
Did you know, the role of Lassie in the movies has traditionally been played by a male collie?
I'm glad you've never had an experience to cause you to fear any species of dog. _________________ Laura

| Lovely photos of a beautyful model og a wonderful dog About aggressive dogs, - I am a little wary about dalmatians, because one attacked my beloved chilhood rough-haired foxterrier and almost killed him I think there can be dogs among all breeds, which can be mad, either by genes or environmental influence. But both the "Lassies" and the Damatians have had the bad luck of having become famous ( 1001 Dalamatians) When hundreds of thousands of people see those wonderful dogs in children's films, too many want one. This means that bad people make a lot of puppies, often in horrible "Dog factories". And lots of unexperienced people but them, because they are cheap, - people who may both get a nervous and un-socialised dog and at the same time have no idea how to handle it, even if it was a very good dog to begin with. Both collies and Dalmatians are lively, strong dogs and need a lot of exercise and work and an owner who understand their nature , - the combination of all this is bound for disaster in many, many cases . |

| That's a decision and a very plausible one. The fact of most of us having a preference for Papo dogs, it doesn't mean in any way that Safari dogs are not good. :) I was afraid of dogs during whole my youth, I was biten several times, often by dogs of a mixed breed. The problem was my fear of dogs, pure cynophobia, my behaviour was not recomended once I was always very nervous with the presence of a dog and it ended with the dog nervous either. With age I learned to control it, I always keep calm and now I often play with them, I remember playing some football using an orange and with an impressive rottweiler. I even found joy doing it and I missed the lady when she died. When a strange dog crosses my way I never give my back and I tell the dog, if you bite me, I'll bite you too. ... and it results but only after my bite. |

| There can be aggressive dogs in any breed, as Susanne said, due to environmental factors or due to breeding. You can't label an entire breed as aggressive, but you can say that the breed has a tendency to aggressiveness. Another fun fact, "pit bulls" (or rather the American Pitbull Terrier) were actually the preferred nanny dogs for many kids in the 1800s due to their protective nature, total bonding with a family, and strong body to use in a bad situation (such as if the child is drowning the dog could pull them out easily). And yes, the popularized breeds get the brunt of bad breeding, dalmations being a classic example.
On a side note, I have this collie and its a nice figure. Great idea for a topic too Takama. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I forgot, New-Ray made a Pomeranianas you can see in Emilia's collection. :) Though, it is already retired and the figure is hollow. |

I'm glad you've never had an experience to cause you to fear any species of dog. Yes i did. In fact, i was Watching a Little bit of Lassie Comes Home, at my aunts today, and the dog looks a lot like a male, and i find it hard to believe the characters referring to him as a she. |

We never got our dogs from dog factory's. My Very First Dog(a Cocker Spaniel named Chance) was bought at a no kill pet shelter. My Second Dog (A Boxer Named Chyna) was boght at a Couples house, who just had puppys. My third Dog (another Boxer Named Pepper) was rescued for free from woman who kept Dog and Wolf Hybrids All of those Dogs are now decieced, In 2005 my parents were looking for a small lap dog, such as Yorkshire Terrier or a Papillion, and then we found a lonely Black Pomeranian in a Now Out of Buisnus Pet Store, among bunch of other pure breed dogs. My mom Fell in love with, and she wanted him. We Named Him Rex, and today hes more of my companion then my moms. |

| Very nice thread and great figures! I think the Labrador is actually one of their best. - Quote :
I love that old fashioned, heavy kind of Labrador. And this one is just as happy and playful as the breed is Interesting. I actually prefer the leaner field Labradors. However, both are beautiful in their own way and I'm glad we have choices. |
