Walking mature bongo is stunning but I would lower the leg so that the hoof is touching the ground rather than being off the floor completely.....

Yes. It is possible I will change it to make the model more stabile.

As you already heard CollectA will have a Bongo model from 2017.
Because of this news my Bongo project is cancelled.

I think Susanne is pointing you to a very interesting project.
Female bongos are as much impressive as males are. The few differences is their chestnut red color that is usually brighter, darker legs, horns of emales are more parallel, thiner and longer, and have half a turn than males in their spiraled horns.
They're also smaller, maybe you can make it in scale to the CollectA figure and it may work with other scales as a large female.
CollectA won't make a female bongo and I doubt any other company will do it. Also, bongo lovers will keep interested in your bongo even if CollectA is releasing it.
Obviously decision is yours and you may find another species, bluebuck is a particularly intereesting one, it was extinct since XIX century and it is related with sables and roans. Its blueish color makes it particularly distinct.

Yes a handmade bongo would be great !
