Sometimes I get an attack of Starlux-craving  ! Ebay.fr call out to me like the ladies at Loreli , and I just HAVE to do a little searching  drunken  Embarassed

Last week I got one of those attacks, and look what I found :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

An armadillo  cheers
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The seller wrote he is Starlux, but - hurraaay - in TAI I can see he is a Big Hairy Armadillo from Prior  Very Happy

A while ago Christophe gave me a bison and an eland from Prior, - it begins to look like a collection  cheers
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And then :  My first Rhea/Nandu  bounce  cheers
According to the seller it is  Starlux no 1746 , - and I am SO delighted to have got one  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

He is happy too, - here with some friends  Very Happy

Another delightful little feller , - the Starlux otter no 1811:

So totally otter , isn't he ?  cheers

I adore him  I love you

Wonder what this pelican is thinking about ?  Laughing

But perhaps the most amazing find, IMHO  Very Happy  Very Happy
A very little zebu made from composition material  cheers
Isn't he just wonderful ?  drunken
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I was sure he is from the miniature series of Elastolin, - but he is not in Ulrich Raue's book  Shocked Yes he is ! Under wildlife  cheers
Look at him together with the large Elastolin-zebu bull . They MUST be related  Laughing
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here he is with friends from Starlux and Clairet...they fit better by size, and get along very well Very Happy

I love these French small vintage figures, Starlux style worked perfectly with the otter, the pose makes me think about the emblematic Miller Megatherium Laughing
Receiving a Prior armadillo instead of a Starlux is surely not a problem when you already have the STarlux one. By the way, the page of this armadillo was half-orphaned on TAI but it is fixed now. Starlux pages are from the begining when the wiki was slightly less protocolar than today. Wink I really love also the pelican and rhea is really special. It is not a surprise that ...Nando loves ñadúes. tongue
To finish in glory, that small zebu is apparently something very rare and how great it works in scale perfectly with the 54mm friends. Very Happy

On STS there aren't stupid questions and this particular question shows all your interest in this hobby. Tim [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], created a fantastic page on Toy Animal Wiki that describes the materials used for toy animal figures.
You can find a description about composition material too. Take a look here! study

Shocked Starlux!!! I'll admit I go on eBay France from time to time too to oogle all the Starlux animals up for grabs. Laughing But those darned salty shipping costs keep me from buying much. Sad

But oh...the otter has certainly stolen my heart. Endearing pose and wonderful details for such a tiny critter!

Congratulations on all these new additions!

Anne : Roger is right ! There are no stupid questions on STS ( and this is not at ALL stupid, - I asked it myself some years ago Laughing ) .
Thanks for the link, Roger, - imagine all the hours I spend on TAI, and I never saw it before Shocked geek

Thankyou, dear Paige Very Happy

Fallon, - good to know I have fellow addicts ...both to Starlux and to the little otter Very Happy

Truly superb additions to your collection Susanne. Very Happy

Love the Starlux birds - they did a great variety.

Need to go Starlux hunting myself.

Thanks for the inspiration.

You're welcome Anne and Susanne! flower flower
Susanne, I haven't noticed before but after checking on TAI, I think you haven't found your first rhea yet. Sad It seems it is an emmu instead. Though, check what the catalogue tells and share with us, please.

I think that the fact that it is not a rhea is not so disapointing. Now you have a very good reason to revisit EBAY France. Laughing Also, you love emus even if they turned more common during these days.
Very nice that the author of the book replied to you and that you now know for sure what you have in your hands. Zebus are those animals that we can find often in wild life series and also in farm series. They're farm animals for me but blue peafowls are probably wild animals and we see them always in farm collections. Very Happy
