| I stopped by my local Walmart last night to pick up a few things. I don't usually shop there, but I wanted to see if they had any new Yowies. They had only one of the new eggs left, with a Galapagos tortoise I already had. But at least the chocolate tastes a little better now! Anyway... So I went to the toy section to see what Schleichs they might have, mostly just looking. And I see that all of their Schleichs are the boxed ones now. They had many Tennessee Walker Mares available, but this one was a little different... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Not a "she" for one... and he also hasn't been available since 2003?? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]At first I thought someone had re-wrapped their old model and returned it somehow, but the model looks freshly painted and the plastic ties don't look like they have been manipulated. His tummy says he was Made in China. Has anyone else seen any long-discontinued Schleichs reissued by accident? If you have a Walmart near you, it might be worth a look to see if they have any other factory escapees out there! Also, sorry for the dark pictures. Like the Starks say, winter is coming... _________________ Jessica Schleich | Safari Ltd. | CollectA | Papo | Mojö Fun | Bullyland | Yowie | Little Critterz | Breyer | et al...

| Okay, so now this story gets a little bizarre. I returned to Walmart again and I found more mis-packaged Schleichs! Well, mostly Schleichs. First the Lipizzaner mare masquerading as a Hanoverian stallion: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then this Andalusian stallion pretending to be a Shire stallion. He looks like a poor repaint of the regular run to look like the Shire. You can see streaks in the black paint and places on his blaze where the original color shows through. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And, last but not least, a Clydesdale foal trying to be a Tennessee Walker foal... but not a Schleich foal, a Safari Ltd foal!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Now I am starting to suspect a collector is buying new Schleichs, keeping them, and then returning the boxes with old models to get their money back. But why would they paint one model and not bother with the others? Also, does Safari Ltd have any shared factories with Schleich in China? (it was marked Safari Ltd, not Schleich) So... I am not really sure what is going on, but I will keep checking back at that store to see what else shows up. If anyone else finds mis-packaged Schleichs, please post here so I know I'm not crazy! _________________ Jessica Schleich | Safari Ltd. | CollectA | Papo | Mojö Fun | Bullyland | Yowie | Little Critterz | Breyer | et al...

| That is beyond bizarre. Please keep us updated if you find anything else. That is crazy someone is messing around like that and getting away with it. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | What?! This is a bizarre find... Great find, but bizarre. How do people from walmart not notice it's a whole different horse I agree with you SUSANNE it's hilarious! The person who brings them back is one evil mastermind only wouldn't do it tho. _________________ . Error 404 *Text not found.*

| How on earth did the person/persons manage to fixate the animals into their boxes without damageing the plastic straps They would have to cut those to get the originales out of the box. Weird And the shop can,t know a darn thing about schleic figurines |

The boxes aren't that hard to open without damaging. If you use an gentle approach. I did it at the rodeo horse set 41416 because I didn't dare to use a sharp object so close at the Exclusive horse. and wanted to keep the box. _________________ . Error 404 *Text not found.*

| This is a strange situation, if someone is like you said, buying ones and replacing them with their owns, they put a lot of effort on them (like, the work of repainting, packing them). This is crazy. _________________ Look what figurines I have for sell

| Weird ?!? But I also wonder how come you can return a figure, and the salesperson do not notice that the horse doesn't look like the PICTURE on the back. It's not like they have to remember, what they look like - just check the back of the box. |
