| Sometimes I try not to be so rude with some companies that decided to create these nobble creatures as funny or cute toys, turning them as a kind of cartoon or horses for dolls. Then, I see some renditions like this one, with the superb style from Lineol 4th generation and think how divinal these figures look when they're sumptuous like these animals are in real. I am a huge enthusiast of Lineol, horses included and great topics like this one only makes me more crazy about these figures. Thank you, Yvette and congratulations for owning one of the nicest coldblood horse figures I know! |

| I agree with Roger ( of course) ! This model has it all , - the power and spirit and gentleness of these huge animals just radiate from him And the old model here is almost like he was made recently And all of that in a relatively small model ! Thanks to your perfect pictures and the brilliant choices of other models for comparison, we get an impression almost like holding him in the hand Thankyou very much for yeat another helpful, beautyful walkaround, dear Yvette ! |

| Thank you friends for your comments. Just because of so many realistic details, the Lineol horses look so lively. roger I agree with you, I have also photographed the Lineol horse together with other horse models by different modern brands. The best "match" was Anna's Fjord horse. So Lineol horse worked in this case like an indicator for good design and detailed work. _________________ Yvette

Who knows Christophe, perhaps horse was made by the Berlin artist Albert Caasmann. He was the leading designer and production manager from Lineol (1919 to 1952) and designed over 600 figures. Many animals, but also Indians, knights, fairy tale and many more. Mr. Caasmann spent a lot of time in the Berlin zoo, where he drew the animals. So in this way some animals from Berlin Zoo became later a model for Lineol. For example Gorilla „Bobby" and the hippopotamus "Knautschke" (1943-1988). Knautschke was one of 91 animals that survived World War II and he was very popular by the visitors of the zoo. About Gorilla Bobby: http://brigittestolle.de/?entry=entry130222-115530 Gorilla Bobby by Lineol. Designed by artist Mr. Caasmann. http://toyanimal.info//index.php?title=File:Lineol_456_Gorilla.jpg Hippopotamus Knautschke by Lineol. Also designed by Mr. Caasmann. http://toyanimal.info//index.php?title=Lineol_652_Hippopotamus Mr. Caasmann was very talented, he has also worked for the porcelain factory Philipp Rosenthal http://www.artnet.de/k%c3%bcnstler/albert-caasmann/auktionsresultate _________________ Yvette
