| Since I made a walkaround about the LINEOL Bactrian camel, I feel the dromedary look at me with some kind of jealousy. I must say I love it as much as I love his cousin so I made a few pics to give him justice. I hope you will enjoy the pics This model was made from 1940 to 1960. It's scale is nearly 1:21... LINEOL was really a serious brand The Arabian camel is a large, even-toed ungulate with one hump on its back. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1758. It is the second largest member of the camel family after the larger Bactrian camel. It feeds on foliage, dry grasses and desert vegetation. The camels are active in the day, and rest together in groups. Herds can consist of about 20 individuals. It shows no signs of territoriality, as herds often merge during calamities. They have various adaptations to help them exist in their desert habitat. Mating may occur in winter, but is peak in the rainy season. Its native range was probably the Arabian Peninsula where it was domesticated about 4000 years ago. The world's only population of dromedaries exhibiting wild behavior is an introduced feral population in Australia. The hump stores up to 36kg of fat, which a camel can break down into water and energy when sustenance is not available. These humps give camels their legendary ability to travel up to 160 km without water. Camels rarely sweat, even in desert temperatures that reach 49°C, so when they do take in fluids they can conserve them for long periods of time. In winter, even desert plants may hold enough moisture to allow a camel to live without water for several weeks. When camels do refill, however, they soak up water like a sponge. A very thirsty animal can drink 130 liters of water in only 13 minutes. Other adaptations help dromedaries thrive in desert conditions. Their nostrils close to keep sand at bay, and they have bushy eyebrows and two rows of long eyelashes to protect their eyes. Large, tough lips enable them to pick at dry and thorny desert vegetation. Big, thick footpads help them navigate the rough rocky terrain and shifting desert sands. And now some pics

| Beautiful animal! And as it seems Lineol is best and most realistic figure of dromedary Very natural proportions, pose, head sculpting Lineol is the best, again... Great walk around and comparison and introduction, thank You for that Christophe! Congratulations for having this figure in Your collection! I can almost feel the desert wind looking at this camel and even though it's raining outside _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| Thank you my friends, I love it more now. A good reason for making walkaround is discovering your own models |

| Thanks Christophe for another walk around about a fantastic figure! I have no doubts that this is the best dromedary I know, it is only a shame that you got the last and now I can't find one for me! Again the realism is considerably superior when compared with the CollectA and Schleich. I'm sure that even Mojo's, that is probably the best among moderns, is also not as nice as the Lineol. Anyway, I like best the Lineol Bactrian camel, maybe because I'm not a dromedary female. But only a little and only watching pictures! |

| I have the great chance to live with the Bactrian and the Arabian LINEOL camels... So I don't need to choose Ok it's only a Male crazy macaque taste The MOJÖ FUN seems to be a nice attempt to reach LINEOL level. I am tempted to buy it but I don't know if it has still a legs problem. |

| The best dromedary in business so far in my eyes, but that is nothing new either, haha . And wow, 130 liters in 13 minutes, that is almost the same as 10 liters in 1 minute my friend! But 130 liters sounds a lot better i guess... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
