| Sorry, i came back late in this tread again, and i want to come back on the wild-horse theme with Sylvia. It looks as we talked about 2 different things before... For me, a real wild horse, is a species that lived in the wild without any human intervention, so like the tarpan, from which the last one died in 1887, and the Przewalskihorse. So the term wild horse on its own can be used for any horse that is living in the wild right now, but all of these populations are more or less controlled by humans. It is known that probably all the other horses and horsebreeds came from these 2 different real wild horses. I know the fact, that they are actually all the same animal, in all of his variations. But all of the wild pony and horse populations, besides the Przewalski's are living there, because people did put them there, or they escaped from human captivity in the far past, and some of them went back to the original horse very much and closely indeed. So that is what i ment before, and that is the difference for me if a horse is real wild or not. Actually it is mainly the same for the dogs, as the dingo decended from domesticated dogs in the past, the New Guinea howling dog is even more primitive in its genes, and the chihuahua has genes that not even go back to the wolf, but more to the foxes! I am not an expert in modern horsebreeds, i confirm that strongly, but any wild living animal, or shortly extinct, was always my biggest interest. And since i am very much interested in genes, extinction, evolution and pre-historic mammals i have my knowledge there to from about 40 years of gathering this... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Moreover, I propose to type the heading about collectors' community in several languages, according to the number of nations of our members - English (large letters), German, Spanish and, say, Dutch (smaller letters). The same could be done to the welcome text. Also we need a thread with explanations - how to post, how to include pics - to be always on top of the "Only for members" section. And I think we should also make this thread multilingual.
