Those are wonderful pictures of an impressive salamander replica!
I believe you are right and, the reference number ending in A"A" could surely mean that we will have a "B", likely a color variant as you mentioned.
Surely the generous size helped them to add the important detail of the second row of teethThe figure is really impressive when viewed frontally and nice that you are already feeding it.
I know they are Japanese but a Chinese giant salamander could also be a good idea.
