| Dear All, I seem to be hung up on 1/32 scale: anything bigger or smaller just wont do!! Being a huge fan of Britains, (I guess our favourites are likely to be the ones we enjoyed as kids) I just find Schleich produce, wonderful though they are, just so bloomin` BIG!! Any advice on alternative providers, including the Japanese, who are close enough to 1/32 that their figures can fit in with my Britain's legacy? Suggestions most welcome. |

| I'd try Breyer stablemate for domestic animals, and maybe Kitan Club, they have some interesting animals, also Kayiodo.
There are also few resins in this scale of wildlife, I think one of our forum members produces 3D printed animals in this scale.
I hope my small suggestion would be helpful. Good luck with searching!

| Wellcome here, Woodlander I don't know much about scale. I am sure Alexander is right But you are missing a lot of gorgeous models. Perhaps you can also have a small not-to-scale collection in another place ? |

| Reisler Starlux Elastolin/Hussser in plastic New Ray (have 1:32 scale but also others) A lot of Hong-kong and China made but mostly copies of british brands Other British brands, like Timpo, Crescent and Shapeways/mininature new 3D-printed models Marolin
Have all 1:32 scale animals. All is available on e-bay but if You are in Britain You might be able to visit one of the toy soldier markets that goes avery year. I have been in like four different in the Londom area and though they fokus on war there's always sellers who have animals.
Lennart Stockholm, Sweden (ps I have spares of a lot of animals to sell cheap if You are interested)

Most of these brands have some models around 1/32 scale but not every animals, and Jeol is often a bit bigger than Britains Ltd. Some Playvisions, K&M and Yujin can do the job too. Among Japanese makers, Colorata, Bandai and kaiyodo have some interresting animals that perfectly complete a Britains collection. For example, some Bandai you could add to your collection Chital family [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Giant panda pair [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Koalas (maybe a little too big) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Tasmanian devils (maybe a little too small) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Orang utans [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lesser pandas [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]or [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Southern plains grey langurs [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Chimps [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Cheetah [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Flamingoes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Impalas [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Leopard [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Spotted hyenas (maybe a little bit small) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Thomson's gazelles [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Zebras, a bit small but excellent [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Western grey kangaroos [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Not sure if this is how to reply to your messages: this is the first time for me. Wow! What a lovely warm welcome, a wonderful response, and so many useful tips. I have been checking out the leads you have all given me. Alexander, I looked at your web site and am in awe of your skill and patience. Christoph and Lennart, you have certainly given me some Googling to do! Next step: I will try and post some pictures of where I have matched up Britains with other makes of the same or a similar scale. Happy hunting. |

| Thanks for opening this topic, Woodlander. I am also a Britains fan and looking for other 1:32 animals, especially wildlife animals. Thanks for all the suggestions, especially Kikimalou for the pictures, very useful to see the size comparisons; if you have any more pictures, that would be great. One comment: I have a few Timpo animals, but they are smaller than the Britains animals, so I find they don't go together so well. |

| Don't forget that pretty much all of the tubes, or "toobs," over the years are at that scale. There have been some fantastic models from these! |

| Thanks, good suggestion. I hadn't even heard of toobs. Just looking at some of them on the web, my impression is that a toob usually contains animals of a variety of scales. Is that true? |

Yes, that's true. These figures are not made according with scale but instead they are designed to match a certain size. In an African tube, a scorpion can be almost the same size as a giraffe. The important is that they fit the size desired for their price range and also to fit the tube propperly. Thus, they cross virtually almost any scale what means that a few could fit accidentally with 1:32 scale figures. |

| The Hausser Elastolins look very good and your photos are great, Christophe. I especially like the tiger cubs. AreHausser Elastolins always 1:32? The difficulty with buying animals in this size is that most companies don't have a consistent scale, and when you buy on the internet, there is usually no (accurate) size information. |

| A lot of Hausser Elastolin 54mm are around 1/32 scale, but not all of them. For example, the mooses are too small and the Chimp and gorilla are too big. More than that, Hausser Elastolin 70mm have the same sculptures but with a different size and are nearly 1/25 scale. That's why I will show more pictures on this topic to help 1/32 collectors to expand their collection with good models...and not only Hausser Elastolin |

| Thanks for the pictures, they are very useful. I'll look out for Hausser Elastolins. They seem hard to find in the UK. The ones on Ebay UK are from France or Germany, and expensive. I wonder whether not many were sold here, perhaps Hausser Elastolin couldn't compete with Britains. |

Indeed, at that time, it was easy to find Starlux in France of course, Hausser was less known but still available here but Britains was unknown. |

Not all the Starlux are 1:32, some are at a bigger scale (pangolin...) and some are smaller (rhinoceros, hippopotamus...) - rogerpgvg wrote:

The Schleich man is 1:40, nearly 45mm tall. The cowboy is 1:32, 54mm tall. I will add more pics as soon as my garden shed is repaired
