| It's time for SUY December. This month we show to other users our congas. I'm very happy with this topic. First of all, because it was my first "win" in a SUY. And also because I really enjoy looking for different paintings for models I already have. What is a "conga"? For us, collectors, conga is a picture of different figurines which have the same mould but with different coats. I will start! I know that Congas must include a huge number of animals but, as I'm only collecting horses, it isn't easy to find more than two or three different coats for the same model. So I add pictures of "little" congas of just two models. One of my last congas: the rearing horse from Schleich. Here you can see the four different models Schleich did: the grey (white) and the black horses are regular ones. They were in the catalogue for many years. The red horse is a Special Edition made in 2014 celebrating the "Chinese horse year". And the last one, the pinto, is a Special Edition made for Muller. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Other conga and other Muller edition: the lusitano horse. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]One of my favourite models is the hanno stallion. I'm very lucky because Schleich used this model to make new figurines. Here, the regular one (first) the bay model, which comes with the shower set and, finally, other Special Edition for Muller. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Moooore mustangs! (sorry, not the car ) For some years, Schleich offers Advent Calendars. In 2016, horse edition, came with a special version for regular mustang mare. The first one is the regular model, in bay coat. On the right, the Advent Calendar edition with grey coat. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The mustang mare in the Advent Calendar arrived, as logical, with her foal. The regular model is bay (as his mother) but the Special Edition was made in black coat (maybe this little guy is grey but, as he is young, he is still in black phase) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Schleich doesn't only give us congas in Special Editions. Sometimes, old models were re-used for new figurines. Here, for example, you can see the same tinker horse in different colours. There is an other figurine, a Muller Special Edition, that I don't have. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Schleich horse magazine always has a special figurine. I have only two. One of them is the Andalusian foal with bay coat. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There was a time when Schleich didn't abuse of Special Editions, different colour models or sets. Here you can see one of the fist models that was re-painted for a set: the little shetland pony. The regular model was the pinto one; and the palomino was made for a carriage set. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]More Muller: the bay TWM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]In the very first years from Schleich, it was very usual to use one model for different figurines. Here, the hannoverian mare. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But this strategy wasn't only used in the past... Here, two more modern models: two regular ponies with different coats. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Few lines before I talked about Magazine foals. Here you can see the other one I have: the trakehner foal. I have also an other edition of this little guy: the one which is in the (VERY EXPENSIVE) stable set. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Muller time again: one edition which I have to admit isn't the best: quarter horse stallion. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The arabian mare (new) is one of the ugliest models, I think. But Schleich seems to have different opinion and used this model for a Muller edition and also in 2015 Advent Calendar. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]In 2015, Advent Calendar had also a foal; and, obviously, it was the arabian foal! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]One of the first Schleich mould was the Darley arabian one. Schleich used it for three models (I only have two) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I think I wrote it several times: one of my favourite moulds is the knabstrupper mare. Schleich did one of its best special edition, in my opinion, with her: Marbacher edition. I have also the foal, but I don't have a picture with the regular model (so no conga is possible at this moment) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I want to show you one of my "special" conga. Few months ago I found a replica of the horse of one rider set. But the problem was the copy wasn't made using the model of the model, they used an other mould of a regular horse (one pinto horse) So I have a very special conga. Here you can see the copy with the pinto and also with the model which should be similar. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Last Schleich little conga: other Advent Calendar model. Here you can see the andalusian mare [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But not all in our lifes is Schleich. I have one little conga from Safari. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And other from McDonalds... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I have more (for example, the old lipizzan mare; the old icelandic pony, the pinto mare... but I don't have pictures of them ) So, now, what are your congas? |

| I just discovered I have a small conga-line of Safari's Brahma-bulls [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The model is marked 2006. The first years it was grey, and the last year or two, it was brown. The beauty to the left is a repaint made by Harriet Knips |
