| Hello again. I'm actually quite a Schleich horse collector, or horse collector in general, even if I haven't as much as written a word about it on this forum (I just simple don't have much to say in already created topics because it has most often already been said). But here is some of my new horses, some of them was the first time for me buying something else then books online. Bayala Oleana with horse # 70410 Knight with horse # 70056 Grey riding pony # 13298 Falabella gelding # 18197 Shire mare # 13605 Haflinger gelding, mare and foal # 13280, # 13606, # 13292 Icelandic pony # 13274 Arabian gelding # 13248 Appaloosa gelding # 13271 Quarter horse mare # 13251The Bayala horse, the knight and the haflingers I bought in a sale in a real life shop. But the haflingers was at the same normal price. The gelding is my third horse made in germany. I don't like the glitter on the Bayala horse and how does that thing on it's butt stay there? And look! She has golden horse shoes. I show her with my dartmoor pony stallion for size, together with the new grey pony. I show the arabian I got with the one I already had, the newer one is my old, just for comparison. The knight horse I always believed to be very alike the andalusian stallion. And they are, but not all to much alike. I show them together even if the andalusian is my "old". I already had the appaloosa and quarter horses, so now I have them in doublets, the one with the tag is my old ones. They are in much better condition, I got them from a shop in Stockholm last summer. Kind of fascination how the spots on the appaloosa is almost exactly the same.

Thank you all for the very nice words :) Look what I found in my mailbox today. But why did I have to get them in plastic bags!? I really don't want them in there, for the same reason I don't want my elf and knight in the cardbord boxed (yes, the knight with horse have been successfully removed from it, but I can't for my life get the knight to get of his horse, they are stuck to each other). But showing them to my dad he got me thinking that they are more valuable in there, even if he don't know anything about collecting. Are there really such a big difference? Are people going to think I'm crazy for open up the bags? I really just want to put them all new and fresh one my shelf and eyeing them in all their glory. The percheron did not come in such a bag, though. My new percheron stallion And my old one, just for comparison. They look different on the belly, but they are both from china. I got the new one thinking I could repaint him (got the icelandic to, knowing it should be in better shape, so I might repaint the old one), but now I don't know, dang it. It does not show much in the pictures, but they look different form each other even if it is just some minor things. The spots one the new one seems sharper and is a tiny bit bigger. The colours on the muzzle is sharper and more red, the same goes for the mane colours. But the older have more black on the side of his head. Probably need to take new pictures in better light, they all looked awful as they are supposed to be documentary not artistic

Nice new ones Well, if you think of selling them again in some years, I'd keep them in the bags. But if you bought them of joy and for you only, I'd release them from those bags. The Percheron is lovely, but I can't help with that stamp on the belly and the differences they have. Maybe other experts here have an answer? Besides, how were you planning to repaint him?

Wonderful additions CONGRATULATIONS They ( most major brands, if not all) always come in plastic bags from the manufacturer, to protect them against rubbing against each others. Probably also to make the cardboard stay in place so the legs don`t bend. We can imagine a whole container full of boxes of plastic animals being sailed all the way from China to other parts of the world, sometime in very hot places. They need to be well packed. Sometimes you see really old models still in their bag, - they can bring quite high prices. It is such a joy to take them out, - nobody has ever touched that model since it left the factury About the writing on the belly, - a few years ago Schleich began writing their full German address on the models, - sheer horror for the small models So the one with the least writing is the oldest _________________ SUSANNE

Carola: I don't collect them in thinking it will make me rich in the future, but after looking around on this forum it seems some people prefers getting their models in these bags as they will become (or already are) more valuable. I somewhat understands this, but I really don't like having to look at them like that. I do keep the tags on my models, did not do that in the beginning, thinking they might be more valuable in the future. But they don't bother me very much. And of course both my parents said "Then you have to keep them in the bags"... The horror the day I get my paws one some real old figurine in it's orginal box I'm thinking of making him lighter grey, all white with dark skin not pink, or some kind of dark bay. But I'm also wondering if he could look good in some kind of pinto colouring. But now I don't know if I will repaint the old or the new one. The icelandic I will probably make a bay dun (I think that is the right word for "brunblack"). Susanne: Thanks. My models will get old some day, but for me that is to far in the future. They are to be for my pleasure, even if I one day sell them. To bad they feel the need to write so much on them. Kara: Well, I got my old one right from a RL shop. The new one I got from a onlineshop that had some of the old molds, so I'm their first owner so to speak. Non of them have ever been played with. No, I do not name my models. edit: Of course, it had to be a variation.

That's completely understandable With Susannes statement with the differences of their writing, may even add value to the oldest of the Percherons, and the new Percheron has value too, as he is retired. Susanne, do you know which year Schleich changed the writing?

Beautiful collection of horses. You have some really nice additions. I have problems with taking some of them out of the bag, but that is totally up to you. I know they display a lot nicer not in the bags.

I love the pose of the little brown pony. ( I think it is Icelandic?) it is my favorite schleich horse.

Your sister said it? Well, fortunately I'm wearing my headphones. Congratulations for your new pinto. I must say that as a figure is not as beautiful as other 2 horses on first picture but surely it was a really special and exciting Addition!

She was very caught in the heat and said that while she was biding :) Just for the fun, not in an mean or angry way. She even paid for the extra money the model cost as I told her she was biding to much. There was another person who apparently really wanted it. Well, the other horses are much newer so naturally they are more detailed and more life like. He might not be as beautiful but I like him. His big spots is very nice looking. |
