I think it says "GERMANY" I can make out "MANY" quite clearly in the second photo. I think it might be Lineol, my Black Rhino has the same mark on it. And he looks very much like this one [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| This is too hard. Every time I settle on one choice, I think of another. For the categories I collect in, I can barely narrow it down to three top choices. So, I'm just going to have to cheat. My apologies. Top Schleich (I'm really cheating here, because my all-time top is going to be a Schleich.) But currently, I can't decide between the Jaguar, the Airedale, and the Wisent. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top Papo: I can't decide between about six figures. But currently, I'm especially smitten with the Boer Goat and the new Bull Terrier. (However, my all-time favorite has been the Thoroughbred! what to do, what to do...) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top Bullyland: I'm not a big fan of Bullyland, but I absolutely love the Caribou, which Harriet sent me in a trade. I also really like my little Bullyland Raccoon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top Safari: Gah, there are just too many. Usually I would list the American Badger and the Indian Rhino. But right now, I really like Hippo and the Cougar. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top CollectA: Currently, I am really smitten with the new 2012 Giraffe. I have really mixed feeling about the new CollectA horses. I was a little disappointed with them when I saw them in person. But they photograph so beautifully. I have to admit, I'm still fascinated with them. Here is the Black Thoroughbred. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top Mojo: Again, my current favorites are the Wolverine and the Camel (and not merely despite the fact that it leans, but in part because it leans; I like it). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top Japanese Brand: I like Colorata and Yujin, but Kaiyodo is KING. And my favorites are the ChocoQ Copper Pheasant, and the National Science Museum Bongo. (And what the heck, I've cheated so much already, I'm going to include the lovely Peacock.) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Top Other Brands: The best I could find here is the Roan Antelope by Noah's Pals. But I don't think these are as good as dozens of other models I could think of by the companies mentioned above. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I'm not going to do the Vintage Brands category because I just don't know enough there. But I will say that I think the old LINEOL Oryx is beautiful, which [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. My all-time favorite is the Schleich Hyena. I love it. I am still as completely fascinated by it as I was the day I got it and as much as any other figure. Probably, I'd take it with me if it was the only one I could save in a fire. Weird, I know. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Way too long. I know. I'm sorry. |

Yes Susanne, you don't need rules and you are showing us some excellent and unusual models. I like your taste - SUSANNE wrote:
The bird next to the secretary bird...hmmm, I always just thought it was a Great Cormorant, but I am not 100 % sure. They do not have blue feet etc... On the bottom it says "UHA" ( Kayodo 2002 072), but there is no bird called an UHA, is there ????
Perhaps somebody can help ? The bird near the Secretary bird is not exactly a great cormorant Susanne It is far older than a great cormorant It is a Copepteryx which lived during the Oligocene era, 28 to 23 Million years ago. I found a pic on Kikimalou's website HERE - HKHollinstone wrote:

Way too long. I know. I'm sorry. Collector's life is a terrible thing Scott, too much choices. But your's are excellent indeed and it is not too long but very generous, three for the price of one |

Thank you Martin! That is very kind of you to say. (Although much of the credit goes to the filter app I used to take them.)

I'm the same! It's impossible to only have one top favourite. There are several Schleich I love, I love all my Kaiyodo and so on Nice choices Scott! _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*
