Good 1:40 Ceratopsians and Raptors Empty
PostSubject: Good 1:40 Ceratopsians and Raptors   Good 1:40 Ceratopsians and Raptors EmptySun Apr 29, 2018 11:37 am

I have a question for anyone else who collects prehistoric life, if you don't mind my asking.  Does anyone know of any good 1:40 scale ceratopsian or accurately feathered raptor figures (I know the latter would be small, but this is what I'm looking for)?  These are the only main dinosaur groups not represented in my collection.

Of course, my first choice of ceratopsians would be the Battat Styracosaurus and Triceratops, but these are almost impossible to find.  I'm just wondering if there are any others in this size range with the same accuracy and quality.

Here are a few I have in my collection. Not all of them are as nice as the Battats, but they're approximately in the right scale:

ceratopsians:
CollectA Koreaceratops ~1:40
Inyector ("The Real Dinosaurs") Centrosaurus: 1:45
Papo Styracosaurus: 1:35
CollectA Xenoceratops: 1:35
Favorite Sinoceratops: 1:50
CollectA Achelousaurus: 1:35
Safari Pachyrhinosaurus: 1:40
CollectA Medusaceratops: 1:45
CollectA Utahceratops: 1:45
Favorite Pentaceratops: 1:40
CollectA Kosmoceratops: 1:35
Toyway (Walking with Dinosaurs) Torosaurus: 1:40
Safari Triceratops (2018): 1:35

The only dromaeosaurs I have around that scale are the Favorite metal model Deinonychus and the CollectA Utahraptor, which are both about 1:45.

Thanks for the list. I especially like the Favorite Pentaceratops but I couldn't find that one either. The Toyway Torosarus looks very promising as well. Either way, this is much appreciated.

I wonder if some of the Kaiyodo raptors might work, but I wouldn't begin to know what to look for. They have such a large variety of models.

I'm glad I could help! As for Kaiyodo, maybe the Deinonychus from Dinotales 3 would work. It's around 1:30-1:35. I think all the others are too large, including the UHA Velociraptor and the Expo 2004 Microraptor. The Furuta/Animatales Kitadaniryu makes for a decent Velociraptor, but it would be more like 1:20. I think there are some metal gaming miniatures that could work. They would be unpainted, of course.

Once again, these suggestions are extremely helpful. I realize these are difficult to find, but there seem to be a lot more choices than I realized. Thanks again!
