CollectA 2019: WILDLIFE -Timber Wolf Hunting (88845)

I've just got this good news from Collecta:

"The wolf plays an important role in fairy tales and is being worshipped in several other cultures. But besides the positive so as negative attitudes that the wolf is said to have: the wolf is a real animal. Originally (before the proliferation of Homo sapiens and the development of farming and agriculture) the wolf was the most widespread land mammal on earth. Wolves were based throughout Europe, Asia and North America. Wolves became known primarily as forest animals, because humans had driven them out from populated areas to the backwoods. Their adaptability allows them to live in the Arctic Tundra as well as in the deserts of North America and Central Asia. When re-working on the the CollectA models our wolves received a new colouring. So, we are presenting you with the new decoration of our two wolf figurines howling and hunting."

Both of these are dissappointing. These models are old and could have used new sculpts all together

I also have to be honest here and tell that CollectA needs really new wolves. It is obvious that this one, despite the new painting, is not anymore a competitor to what other brands are presenting and it is not in line with the beautiful figures CollectA is presenting these last years. The new Schleich counterpart for 2019 looks far better than this one.

I will not add anything to Roger, that's true. It's a pity, because they showed us that they are able to make great models, and these wolves are some failure

A year ago there were 11 models from wild nature, I hope that we still have some amazing animals for us Like every year, I'm counting on jaguars and hyenas

The howling Wolf looks quite good, better than the ones from Schleich for example. But this hunting one is still the old one. This is quite disappointing. I hope that CollectA will show us some new ones next week, which will be more satisfying...

Not for me. This wolf is a bad choice.

On the other hand, Schleich has also relaunched old models again and again in the past.

you know it's an odd year when people are more excited for the king crab than the wolves!

Quite dissapointing. It's not a CollectA's level these years: anatomy is terrible and unfortunately I can't say that CollectA have really good paintjob about canids. Previous versions of their wolves looked ok with paintjob on official photos, but in reality coloring was just awful. Don't think that they change this situation in this time.

So they improved the paintwork a bit but its still the same old model. =/ These sculpts aren't of the same quality as other modern wolves, they need new sculpts.

Since I have to import CollectA models from overseas to even acquire them, I probably won't be bothering with these.

But still better than the ones from Schleich...
