| A vintage crocodile I recently asked about here.... The lower jaw is missing and the tail is damaged, it is made of hard plastic.... It refers me to a French brand but it came in a huge lot where all the figures were made in Spain... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

Any info gratefully received Thanks Jason
Hi Jason According to the book above it is made by Stoddart prior to 1939. However, Timpo bought many of the Stodddart moulds and they appear in Timpo boxed sets from 1946 to 1950. In the book it is identified as a gorilla. |

The crocodile is either Pech or Jecsan both Spanish manufacturers. There is an image of the crocodile with other animals on this Blog site: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Hope this helps |

| It is not Pech or Jecsan. I have the catalog books of the Spanish brands (and I have all the Jecsan, Pech, Teixidò, Lafredo, Arcla... crocs) and this figure is not Spanish... |

| I bought these figures quite a few years ago (they came in an old cardboard box exposed as a composition and tied to the back of the box -clearly handmade- along with several Hausser Elastolin animals and one or two Britains). They are plastic, have all the character of Hausser, the paint is matte and the scale would be 1:32. They have always seemed a mystery to me because I have never seen them again. Someone told me that they were a prototype that Hausser never brought to the market... If anyone knows anything, it would be appreciated... *Box detail... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Very nice wildebeest on the top! Which type of plastic is it made of? Is it PVC, hard plastic or Clairet-like plastic? |

| Do you have a photo of the whole box? It looks like someone has done a home made set, because Britains have been mixed in with other brands, and they are tied with fuzzy wool What year did the Britains eagle come out, that gives a timeline anyway. Do you know the history of the box and any info about who the original owner was? have you been able to take them out and look underneath, or photograph them further? ------- Since too many posts were made, this topic has been divided automatically.
