| As I've learned this is one of the most rare items - and now there's one at ebay.de for sale - new and with tag! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I think I can't afford it at the moment - I guess it will raise in astronomic heights, still more than nine days left -, but maybe anybody else here would need it to complete his collection? |

Now it costs 138,87 Euro I think you have an brown Pelican anymore? You told you has bought him for 45 Euro. Whot do you want with an second? And the rare Pinto was sold for 350 Euro and a few month later for 120 Euro. The Armadillo was sold for 50 Euro for 2 Years, now you became 15 Euro. The Wild Boar with the green paint got last year 25 Euro, this year 1, 2 oder 3 Euro. The first Satchmo was sold for 56 Euro, the last for 12 Euro. You see, you can get all for an good price when you can wait. |

Hmmm.....it's 139 euros with almost 9 days left to go. If your strategy is to drive the price up to a point where only you can afford it, then everything is going as to plan. The only drawback is that you'll pay a fortune to get it..... If you will remember, everyone laughed at me for what I paid to win mine on auction, but it appears that what I paid will be a bargain compared with this one. Somewhere in Germany, Mario is a very happy fellow right now. :) It is beginning to look like Torben was quite correct in his prediction..... |

| I would further note that as a result of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the brown pelican, in real life, is taking a beating, or rather a thorough coating. It is becoming a symbol of the devastation wreaked upon nature by mankind, at least in the USA. The Schleich brown pelican may be super-rare, but in real life here in the States, they may become even rarer than their PVC cousins. It's really very, very sad. Of course, we all still want our creature comforts (no pun intended), all based on a petroleum economy, and over 50 % of the American public still are in favor of offshore oil drilling. Then again, one can point out, with quite a bit of truth, that if our oil doesn't come from the American offshore "continental shelf" or just beyond, it comes from the Middle East, Nigeria, or somewhere else that now has a spoiled environment. Drink up, lads, and don't forget to turn off the light before we all leave..... |

| Well, i am the last who wants the price to be high, but ok, it is a rare item, and prices went up too far... I am known as the bargain-hunter in our scenes... You have to bleed for an item you want... I have a price in mind what i want to pay for this item, if its going up too high, i will let it go, even when i can afford it... I just want to do quick business on rare items, i am not patient at the moment... |

We are the same way, in that I too have a specific amount in mind for each piece, as a "ceiling." And, of course, we want to get the rarest figures, since they are appreciating in price at an ever-accelerating pace. Good luck with the pelican. |

| The brown pelican has flown away. All of that seller's auctions are kaput for some reason. Too bad, as he had something else I was interested in..... |

I have thought something like that. Because he solds a lot of satchmos, but he don`got any rating for an satchmo and his prices went in to the cellar and he sold and sold..., so you could see, that he only wanted to earn quick money. |

| Peter, I may be misinterpreting the situation, but I believe that eBay killed his auctions because he was using their eBay messaging system to sell Satchmos offline, which is a big no-no in eBay land. |
