| Fortunately this is a natural scene once it is illegal to promote these kind of fights. Isn't it too much for such a poor cobra? Wonderful as always, I also don't know the mongoose figure and I also would love to know more about it. |

| oh I found them all on a flea market for some cents and I don'know anything about their origine (maybe Tarunyada would know?..)
Pardo, why are you thinking they are egyptian rather indian ones please?
I was sure that this scenery would make you woring for the cobra which is a good boy indeed. One of them lives in the "garden" of one of my friend's house in Kambodja near Kep. He generaly sleeps near a water-hole and never wanders close around the house. When I visited my friend, a few years ago, as I asked to meet him, she explained to me their "deal" and I didn't disturb and see it..
Well, I eat meat from time to time yet I could eat something else and accept mongooses which belong to Carnivora order, to do as well to survive!..
Thank to you all for comments! :)

| Just because the Egyptian is the "famous" one and the one I know by default both are identical as they belong to same genus but in these cases I tend to put the name of the most well known species to a figure _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| There are porcupines in Italy and even geckos in southern France (I already knew that but still could not believe it when I saw it) so why not mongooses in Spain ? _________________ Schleich 370 CollectA 76 Papo 61 Safari 24 Yujin 15 Southlands 12 Mojo 14 Maia&Borges 5 Bullyland 1 Recur 1 Homemade 3 Bootleg 1 Total 582

| geckos oh yes, many in my backyard!.. I knew for ichneumons in Spain and realise just now, thank to you and my new encyclopedia of carnivorous, that they are mongooses!.. In my previous books, they are just called "ichneumons" and described as a species of viverrids close to mongooses! :) |

| Until the age of 25, everything south to la Loire was Africa to me. Those mongooses and geckos confirm it. We actually had a joke with my mom : "What separates man from animal ?" - Spoiler:
La Loire
Then, I "road tripped" through the South and found that it was in fact really beautiful. Such a shame it is as hot as Saudi Arabia in summer |

| Porcupines in Italy is a different matter, they were introduced. Ichneumon is just the straight scientific name of the animal, is if we call the Indian mongoose as "Edwardsis". Actual ichneumons are a family of wasps. There are a bunch of different gecko species native to the Mediterranean (and even one very famous worlwlide, the Mediterranean house gecko, as it invaded North America), and I can find surprising that somebody in Europe was unaware of their existence _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| I mean, I knew there were geckos in the south of France but I still could not believe it when I saw one In my mind, geckos are exotic animals. Like scorpions, it is still difficult for me to believe there are scorpions in the south of France. Or the common chameleon, still unbelievable to me that there are chameleons in your country Pardo. Strangely enough, I don't have the same problem with flamingoes and vultures _________________ Schleich 370 CollectA 76 Papo 61 Safari 24 Yujin 15 Southlands 12 Mojo 14 Maia&Borges 5 Bullyland 1 Recur 1 Homemade 3 Bootleg 1 Total 582

| Maybe this is because flamingos and vultures can fly and reach great distances while geckos, scorpions and chameleons don't. But I would prefair if Europe had elephants, rhinoceroses, hyenas, lions and zebras as it probably would have if mankind didn't appeared here... _________________ My collection:- (Details):

Such a shame it is as hot as Saudi Arabia in summer Oh! I don't think as you seem, that people from North of La Loire river are all animals! .. but there are surely on the both sides of the river, people who forgot they have a brain to think by themselves!.. .. and I suggest you to spend winter in Grands Causses area, or many others in South of La Loire river, and then, we 'll speak again about your "african feelings" about South of "La Loire" river! Maybe you'll regreat your "britanish" winter!.. (I spent 1 year in Renne and can compare!) I add I am fond of Africa and african peoples but (hélas!?) South of France is not Africa.. even the warmest areas, like "Bas Languedoc" are different. When I was a student in Montpellier a long time ago, my african friends suffered the terrible summer warmness they never knew in tropical areas! About geckos, 20 years ago, they were very few , only in some old centers of very few towns (Sète, Montpellier, Lunel, Nîmes) and were strictly protected. They are now everywhere in "Bas languedoc" even in the smallest villages like mine, even in my house where they eat mosquitoes and little black scorpions (which are becoming scarce! :-/) This is regarded as a warning sign of climat changing. |

| Perfectly illustrated that business and with a good sense of humour. Love your pictures as always and it is good that people is aware of the negative effects of some activities. We need a Timor deer figure. |

We need a Timor deer figure. one of my sons who spent few months on Lombok island to create artificial coral reefs, finaly refused to go to Komodo when one of his friends told him in which conditions were organised the visits.. and the prices too!.. sadly, natural preservation became business..
