I checked TAI again, and there was a picture of a monocrome variation in the species page .
But under Rainforest Polybag  number 53529 there also was a picture of the coloured one , - so now I added the other picture to the species page, and thanks to you, it will be possible to identify it in the future

Interestingly, most of these Chinese knock-offs have been paint jobs than the Safari originals...

What one arth is that funny critter in the front, - the beige one with long tentacles ?

There are two aliens in the photo - the mentioned one. and another under the right wing of the pheasant-pterosaur hybrid. Or well, maybe said hybrid is the third alien too

By the way, I think that when I was a little kid I had the little stegosaur near the upper left corner...

Those 'aliens' are creatures from Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game. However, whether D&D originated them, or copied them from the toys, I do not know. These creatures were popular in bag sets of dinosaurs that were bought for me in local grocery and drug stores when I was a child. I have seen them in the D&D 'Monster Manual' book. But which came first, I do not know.

and my sons had the 2 brontosaurus, the machrauchenia and the uintathetium! :)

I bought some of these dinosaur in year 1972, macrauchenia , uintatherium, pterosaurus and others

how the animal with tentacles  and the green armored.

Haha! Seems I've seen it before, a long time e ago. If I found another, it would have to join my alien/fantasy creatures collection.

Pardofelis, I remember that stego and many others of these dinos from my youth. I still have some maybe from more recent thrift store lots, I shall have to check. Looks like an appreciative home for them has been found in Fernando. Hope they weren't in the last batch I gave to the church kids room.
