| The Pleuroceras Ammonite and Belemnite – pure love! CollectA is my favourite brand (as well as Papo). Their quality has developed over the years. As a bird collector I'm a bit disappointed with the new figurines. The Puffin looks nice, but I'd like to see something more surprising. Nordic water birds, for example. _________________ Katja

| The ammonite and belemnite are nice. Companions for the old Bullyland ones. ^^ I also like the sloth. |

| Well I was frozen when I saw the 2020 Collecta wild life: just 4 animals and two are replicas with a different color...no new antelopes Collecta with no antelopes is like Xmas without Santa Claus....I was disappointed about all the animal makesr production for 2020..Safari Ltd as well ..all of them moved their efforts on prehistoric creatures which are very good and I collect them as well but news about wild and ocean life are very disapppointing this year ...I have not decided if we have to worry or not... Let s wait for Papo even though I am not expecting anything... |

| Maybe the komodo dragon will end in my shelves, it will depend on its size. It's really well done and it looks better than other Komodo figures. The gorilla will end definitely in my shelves, finally we have a real Eastern Gorilla, marketed as such species and sculpted as that, in a sea of western/unspecified gorillas. _________________ My collection:- (Details):

He looks very very nice, at least in the stock photo. I don't know about its species accuracy, it's so hard for me to identify a gorilla species, though I tried. What species was the 2017 Schleich Gorilla? That was a good figure too and they don't look much different |

| Thanks for posting here these pictures of the last batch. Most impressive are the first creatures. The gorilla looks good but the body looks too long, I need to see a walk around when it is on the shelves of one of our member friends.
The komodo looks very detailed but something is not working for me. I can't see the tradtional look of a varanid in that figure. Mojö's seem more convincent. |

| The gorilla is impressive but I am content with what I have. Same with the Komodo dragon.
So, it looks like all my CollectA purchasing in 2020 will be invertebrates! |

| The 2017 Gorilla from Schleich is a Eastern Lowland Gorilla.
I will definitely add the Mountain Gorilla, the Nautilus and the Komodo Dragon to my collection. |

I will definitely add the Mountain Gorilla, the Nautilus and the Komodo Dragon to my collection. I thought about using subspecies to justify getting the gorilla. I will have to think about it. One good eastern gorilla might be all I need. |

Thanks! I'm a bit confused though, Schleich's description says "Gorilla gorilla" as scientific name, i.e. a Western Gorilla... Well. whatever, both are nice figures. |

| Schleich often has done some mistakes:) I've checked the morphology. The Eastern Lowland Gorilla looks similar to the Western Lowland one. But it is a subspecies of Eastern Gorilla like the Mountain Gorilla. It has strong muscles and lacks the brown hair on the head like Western Lowland ones have. In nature, the Eastern Lowland Gorilla is the largest subspecies of the two Gorilla species. |

Yes, I have always understood the Schleich figure to be an eastern lowland as well! |

| Wow.....I don't know what to say. I will get the Caviramus, but the rest? I'm glad to read some people are excited though. The komodo looks absolutely weird to me with its tongue sticking out AND with its mouth open. I've never seen a komodo dragon do that. |

Just a comment... I think that's a posture that some small amphibians and lizards will do, an attempt to look bigger and intimidate. With this in mind... I hardly think this is a behavior a komodo would ever feel the need to do, but technically i guess it isnt out of the realm of possibility. Perhaps a smaller more insecure dragon would do that... i dunno. To each their own i guess! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. The tongue is used mainly for 'smelling'; one would think the opening of the mouth would cause the muscles operating the tongue to retract back into the mouth. That is just a personal thought; I am not a vertebrate zoologist so I honestly don't know... |

I think the bottom line here, that we all can agree on, is that it's a strange posture no matter how you slice it. it's an innovative idea, I mean they tried to make the model more dynamic than most (especially for this species), it just failed because it's an unnatural looking posture and not quite accurate action for this type of animal. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs.
