| The spino is good, and the Paraceratherium is interesting, but I'm more into wildlife (with exceptions). So nothing for me here. The humpback seems a step back and the alpaca brings nothing new.
I'm a bit dissapointed. The most interesting batch in terms of wildlife from last year was the first one, I hope this to be the opposite this year. |

| Fantastic work [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]!!! STS is the first seeing these releases, you're really making huge contributions to this community! Apparently the surprises for wildlife collectors are reserved to a future batch but it is impressive how fast CollectA reacts and here is an updated spinosaurus, probably a remastered model but really cool. They also promised a long time ago a replacement to the paraceratherium and here it is, we can't compare with with the ITOY model but I am sure we are talking about two completely different price tags. I like that pose, the previous one was too much like a giraffe, they probably fixed the toes and funny, is it a macrauchenia like trunk? |

It incorporates the latest theories of how this huge animal appeared. (It is the largest land mammal known and related to both the rhino and the horse). The skull shows that the Paraceratherium that lived in China, Mongolia and Pakistan, probably had a proboscis rather like that of the modern tapir. Like the modern rhinoceros and elephant, it is likely that the Paraceratherium habitually used mud and dust baths. It lived in the Oligocene era, 34-23 million years ago. |

| I quite like the Noriker, perhaps a little off for a true typey example of the breed (they usually have some heel feathering, and a bit more drafty build with a deep chest) but a handsome model of a normal, placid looking horse is always welcome. Something a little odd about the nostrils, they're a tad too high and upward-angled, but it doesn't make her look terrible, and the strong nasal bones are well captured. The chunky leg trend isn't an issue on a naturaly chunky type of horse, so the proportions feel fine with this one. The appaloosa looks really great, a good old mould from the peak of CollectA's horse sculpts so of course I'll find no fault there, and it looks even better in this shaded colour than the original black blanket pattern I've got. I always used to just pick my favourite when they released horses in two colour options, often because one was much nicer than the other, but also for space and budgeting reasons. But with this and the gorgeous second colour on the Icelandic they offered last year, I'm thinking I will start buying more than one version - they're too good to turn down, I'll just have to make space From the others, the alpaca's not bad, though I don't collect farm - I like the way they've rendered the fluff in solid form, and it fills an obvious gap in their range. If I remember rightly they've done a llama already, and from what I've seen on tv alpacas have massively overtaken them in popularity over the last decade or so, so it makes sense to have provided one for their farm series. I do like the Spinosaurus a lot, it's good to see a swimming pose and more aquatic interpretation in general, and the mould's skin texturing and paintwork looks really well done. I've not seen any of their Deluxe range in person, but maybe the size allows for that extra level of artistic fiddliness in the detailing. Although from what I've read on here, a lot of collectors are really firm about only having one scale and everything working well together, so this release is possibly good for the fans of the Deluxe size, and really, really frustrating for the people who only collect standard size! I don't know enough about Pteranodon to really comment anything remotely useful, but the colourscheme is a bit of an eyeful, isn't it |

| Last year's CollectA releases, in my opinion, were pretty average.... I hope that this year will surprise us with WILDLIFE, please...
And I'm especially looking forward to the new releases from SAFARI and PAPO, they always bring out at least a couple of gems.... |

| Nothing for me, yet. The alpaca is nice, but I'm more than satisfied with my Papo. The whale calf has a strange mojo-like quality in my opinion, but not bad. I may eventually come back for the horses but I'm not super focused on domestic breeds at the moment. Hopefully the wildlife gives us some nice surprises! _________________ Always looking for new species

Well, this looks good. I've put the Paraceratherium, humpback whale calf and alpaca on my searchlist. Can't wait to see what else there is.

| The Geosternbergia is nice (I might get it depending on how any in-hand pics look), but the Spinosaur just feels to spiky and dragonlike. I still much prefer PNSO’s Spinosaurus from 2020. But the Paraceratherium is a must-have for me. _________________ “They were here before us and if we’re not careful, they’re going to be here after”-Ian Malcolm Also check out my collection here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Haydn [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

I remember, when visiting the fabulous New York natural history museum, a skeleton of Paraceratherium (partially reconstructed, partially original) with a big signage saying "the problem of the thirsty rhinoceros", arguin that the proportions of neck and legs of this animal always intringued scientists about how this mammal reached the water level. It's possible that it folds his forelegs like a camel, or open widely the legs like a giraffe, but the body is too massive for the legs supporting its weight in so unnatural positions. One of the theories that this signage explained is the presence of a trunk, that prolongates the head-neck lenght and make water level reachable. And now we finally this theory represented in a figurine :) P. S. This is one, if not the main, reason for me not collecting prehistoric. One never can be sure of the exact appareance of a fossil species, especially coloration. See now this CollectA Paraceratherium with sparse ginger hair on it's grey skin, and forming tufts on the ears, much likely a Javan rhino. However, classic representation of Paraceratherium was with bare grey skin (and a thinner neck). - Joliezac wrote:

How do you know? Size is not indicated... Anyway, it's difficult to imagine a Paraceratherium figurine "too big" when it intends to represent an animal a third larger than a modern elephant _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]According to everything dinosaur the paraceratherium is 22 by 14.7 cm, which that sounds like a really nice size I don't have many shelves so I really have to pick and choose what mammals to get... So for me too big, but I am moving soon so maybe I'll have more space and I can start getting CollectA's prehistoric mammals because as of right now I don't have any yet _________________ Jolie
