Play Visions Badger Walkaround Empty
PostSubject: Play Visions Badger Walkaround   Play Visions Badger Walkaround EmptySat Nov 02, 2019 6:29 am

This guy came to me yesterday in a lot of unidentified animal figures I picked up on Ebay. Needless to say, I was very excited, and this wasn't even the only Play Visions figure in that lot. It also included a PV polar bear and giraffe, which I'll be putting up for sale on my Ebay soon. This badger definitely has a different paintjob than the one I usually see
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and it makes me wonder if it was possibly included in a different set, much like the varying paintjobs on the PV wolves. Either way, I've been looking for this figure for awhile, and feel very lucky to have finally found it. I'm still on the hunt for the other Play Visions mustelids (with special emphasis on the black-footed ferret, wolverine, and otter) so if anyone has them for sale or trade, please let me know.

It is the first time I watch the PV American badger with such a paint.

This model occured in two sets and I have the one from the Weasels set. Maybe the Yellowstone Wildlife badger was different ?

Thank you for teh nice job Very Happy

It's definitely possible. Although maybe not as realistic, I think I prefer the paintjob on mine. Something about high contrast and striking markings is appealing to me. And thanks, I'm glad you like it!

I like this North American badger. PV figures have such a charm to them, even when the colors are a bit exaggerated. For this species, I have the Safari NAW version which is spectacular!

I also don't remember seeing that version of the American badger, I believe [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] would love to see it too. Is number 3 I see marked in your figure? If it is, it matches the numbering of the weasels set.

Fairly certain mine is painted the same way. I had two different variations of the PV badger at one point but sold one of them about 2 years ago. And I honestly can't remember which one I kept and which one I sold lol. XD All I know is that it is part of the pile that needs to be photographed / re-photographed for documentation.

Looking at the old pic of the PV badger on my dA account...I think that particular version might be the one I sold.

Agreed about PV. I keep meaning to pick up the Safari badger, but just haven't gotten around to it.

Yes, it is marked with a 3.

Hmm, then it wasn't just a one-off error in the paintjob, it was a legit variation. Very interesting. I think mine came from a retired teacher or something, as the package was labeled as being for education and came with laminated continent names. I'm assuming the students were meant to organize the animals by native habitat.
