| I'm so excited to have finally gotten this little guy in the mail today. Mustelids are one of the things I'm most passionate about collecting (second only to wolves) but, outside of otters, they get so little love from major companies. Seeing Safari Ltd release a more obscure species was a dream come true, and now I'm just holding out for them to release a marten, because that needs to happen. Long-tailed weasels, like many weasels, are fascinating because they seem so small and cute, but are incredibly ferocious and can take down prey many times their size. Long-tailed weasels are even nicknamed the psychopaths of the animal kingdom because of their ferocity. I personally would have liked to have seen Safari give this figure a more unique paint job (something a bit like this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) but I'm so happy that they even made this figure that I can't find it in my heart to be too critical. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this turnaround, and are as excited as I am for the rest of the new Safari lineup. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Very cute although the pose looks a little odd, I think it may be that one front leg that looks a bit off. Will be buying this figure though anyway but only once the wolf is released so I'm not paying for so much shipping inbetween releases. Gets expensive real quick buying them as they release them instead of all at once lol. XD |

I thought the same thing when I first saw it. I think it's meant to be a weasel walking over uneven terrain or something, so A+ for creativity, but I still think it was a bit of a weird pose to choose. I'd love to see a weasel figure where they're doing the little boing boing boing run that they do. Totally understandable to wait on that, especially if it's not a huge part of your collection. |

I agree for the odd leg and also for enjoying this "first time ever" model I also agre for a better painting |

| thank you for sharing VV!.. I love mustelids too but try to keep my collection at about the same scale and it's why I did'nt get yet the Mojo one which seems far too big to compare with my Schleich stone marten and polecat.. Is it a different species from the eurorean one?.. |

| I think the pose is just an active/dynamic figure (legs might be a little bit long); we are so used to weasel figures essentially sitting with their heads propped up. This one is in motion. |

That's probably part of it, and I think the other part is that we more commonly see them moving in a more low slung pose with their bodies carried closer to the ground. As someone who has kept ferrets multiple times in my life I can attest that the Mustela genus pretty much exists in a perpetually liquid state. They can move in ways that seem like they shouldn't be possible. |

Is it a different species from the eurorean one?.. If you want the stoats to be on the same scale as the marten and ferret, then yes, they would be much too large. The long-tailed weasel is native through North America all the way to the upper part of South America. They are related to the stoat/ermine/short-tailed weasel and share a lot of common traits, but they aren't the same species. |

| Very useful walk around. A new species in this hobby is always a good news and it could be enough to put it in my wish list. Though, I think the sculpt is quite decent, colors are recognizable but simplistic and pose is quite frenetic what I like. I am also happy that it is not as large as I thought. |

me too Roger; the size would have been the deal-breaker for me (especially after that large 2019 honey badger) |

Yes, I agree. Weasels are extremely, unusually bendable , so a pose has to be extremely extreme ( ) to not be realistic . But the upper legs ARE too long no matter what |
