| At a thrift store yesterday, I found a boxed set of marine creatures from the US educational company Lakeshore Resources. Sadly the set isn't complete, but as it sells for $40+ at their stores, I'm not complaining. I thought it might be interesting for people who wonder about the distribution of some brands what I found in it. There is a mix of brands and quality; most are Chinamals but the right whale is AAA and the whale shark Toy Major, both older figures. (I have seen this set being sold within the last few years; it probably still is). Note that the unbranded top whale, which looks like a copy of the AAA whale, did not come with the set. I just happened to find it also. Some of the figures are nice; the 'manatee' looks more like a deformed seal. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Thanks! I think the sea cucumber is my favorite from the set. The manta is AAA also; I'm guessing from the photo that the humpback whale, great white shark and dolphins - didn't get any of them- were AAA or Toy Major. The fish (darn would have liked it), turtle, lobster and crab didn't make it either. The jelly looks like a Chinamal one I got in a cheap set, and I've seen the sea dragon sold in cheap sets also. The seal, 'manatee', and otters are hollowcast figures that look like dollar store offerings. |

The sea cucumber is also a 'Chinamal' - I have seen them in cheap sets (just can't remember where off-hand at the moment) |

| That's an effect of the globalization or are these products from the same Chinese manufacturer? A repackaging of random figures in stock? Well, whatever is it, it shows some very interesting figures and I am glad you decided to share it with us. |

| Roger, I think it's a repackaging of items from various manufacturers. From the photo on front and the inventory sheet inside, I think everything in here is as it was sold except for the whale I mentioned. |

| I definitely recognize those smaller figures as available as bin and small sets in many places.
Not sure on the bigger figures. _________________ I used to have an online store, but now it's a Blog exploring the variety in my collection! Not sure on the bigger figures. The little ones are definitely Nayab. |
