Wonderful, Susanne! I think that with all your photos, only the Mountain brushtail possum is missing. Very Happy
Here it is with the Schleich koala.

Like in real life, the perentie is ever so beautyful, - which I won't say that Komodo dragons are Laughing

No, I forgot the wonderful wedge-tailed eagle with snake. That kind of figures are almost impossible to photograph for me and I don't have any Schleich bird with me at the moment. However, if nobody has the chance of photographing it, I can try with a Safari figure, for instance.

Southlands perentie is a masterpiece, probably the best monitor figure we have ever seen. I also doubt that any other company makes a perentie. We have the popular and dynamic Papo Komodo or the almost perfect Colorata and Mojö renditions but this figure from Southlands has everything. Sculpt, detail, painting, pose, etc. Even just watching their toes we see that there is something superior on that figure.

That Schleich Komodo looks pretty good. I am not sure why I have a hard time picking a Komodo figure. They are all good but at the same time...just...not...good enough. I went with Mojo (I wish it was more dynamic though...). The best (Safari IC, Rebor) are too big.

Here we have some egales, - The faithful, old, bald eagle from Schleich , and the Reisler one with fox, because he is also teaching another animal to fly Wink
And the bald eagle from Safari . He has given up competing with all that fluttering of wings  Laughing

Perhaps somebody else has other models they want to show with the Australian eagle  ?  bounce

Great that you can use the pictures Very Happy

Here the perentie with the new Schleich komodo dragon and the one from Mojo.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Pictures on the irst page of this topic show it with the old one from Schleich.
Please bear in mind that Mojo's dragon now comes in a much more beautyfully painted variation drunken

Wonderful Susanne! I love to see these two flight instructors together! Laughing Actually, the Southlands and Reisler figures represent a very similar concept and both are remarkable figures of their respective eras.
I also have them and I love so much these figures. By the way, I have to thank all my Southlands to you. cheers
It is a pity that the Mojö Fun komodo dragon is basically symmetrical if we exclude the tail. It turns a highly detailed figure somewhat unaappealing. It also neglects their characteristic wavy movement that works as an inspiration to the deadliest monsters of our nightmares. affraid

That is a fact and curiously, it is at the same scale as the Safari Ltd Wildlife Wonders white rhino or hippo that are also hollow figures. I suspect the rhino figure is larger once the Southlands figure is not based upon an extreme sized diprotodon specimen as far as I know.

My turn to ask for a favor on these comparison pics. Can someone compare the S.R. male red kangaroo with the 2018 Safari female with joey?

On the Blog, someone just posted the 2017 Schleich figure next to the S.R. male, and they scale well together. Curious if Safari's figure is just as good in terms of size.

The Mojo Komodo looks so great next to the Schleich one ! You're right Roger, the pose is the least appealing thing about it but I think I will buy it sooner or later, along with CollectA new one, so that I have a pack of dragons drunken

Grrr! I have been searching and searching, but can NOT find that macho kangoo  Suspect
I remember he was too tall for the shelf where I keep the other  SR-models, and put him somewhere I was SURE I could remember.
Only, now I can't  Embarassed  geek  clown  What a Face

But here are the two ladies in the mystery: Schleich and Safari, - perhaps that helps a little ?

Let's hope somebody else can take the right picture, - or better : That I find that male kangaroo lol!

Susanne, probably you placed it in a box that was sent to Portugal. I have the Southlands but not the Safari red kangaroo female thus I can't help either. However, I find again your pictures very useful and informative. Companies make great kangaroo figures. Very Happy

Laughing Could be he is in Portugal scratch
If he is, I am sure he is happy there Laughing

Yes, there are many nice kangoo models !

In my opinion the Safari one is (among ?) the very best Very Happy
She is very realistic, - it is the dry season, and she is a bit thin, having to care for the large, unruly  joey and with not too much to eat.
The way the muscles are seen in her powerful hind legs is typical for the special way of moving Applause
