Beautyful sloth , item no 88898 from CollectA 2020 :D

When Mojo made a model of a sloth in 2013, it was almost a sensation !!!
Before that it was very hard for an ordinary collector to find one.
Well, compagnies like K&M and PV had made small, stylished ones, AAA a huge one, and also there were a couple from less known brands.
Elastolin made one in the late 40s, and Starlux in 1980.
But it was really easier to find a model of the extinct Giant Sloth ( Bully, Safari, Schleich).

THEN ! In 2016 Disney made Zootopia !!! The same year Eikoh made a neat little model,
and  next year we got a  sloth from both Safari, Papo, and Schleich  

Now, in 2020, Collecta has brought this little wonderful model on the market, - surely worth waiting for

I think he is a brown-throated sloth, even if the throat is more grey ...

What do you call this on a sloth ? Hand? Paw ? Hook ?

I saved the comparison picture till last, because I know that many will think the model is too large, - fortunately I do not have that kind of problem

YOU GOT HIM/HER!!! This figure looks truly phenomenal and even though they are huge next to their two relatives I have to get this figure!

This sloth is certainly a bradypus, and I would say it is 100% a brown-throated one
And they are called claws

It's very nice, but not so better that I need to replace the Papo one, which currently represents the species in my collection.

I was really needing this topic. I love sloths and I don't have yet any of these sloths, neither the Safari model. Though, they are all candidats to enter my collection someday.
I had no idea about its size, surprisingly large but that is also not a problem for me.
I think all three are brown-throated sloths. I like the claws of the CollectA model, much nicer than Schleich's although I like the pose of the German sculpt. However, if I had to choose one, it would probably be the Papo figure although I am not sure it is the best, just the one I like most.

That sloth looks amazing! I would say it is indeed the best sloth on market, even thought it's size is a problem for me. But I may will get me one too, as it is a rare representante of the South American fauna, for which I still need some more.

I forgot to write that he is probably the only model of an adult male sloth ( which we can see on the speculum on his back ) , and Paposloth is the only female with a baby

very nice sculpting and painting but I already have the 2 others and I don't think I shall order it because of the shipping cost and its bigger size..

Wonderful model!!

You named the topic very well ... it is indeed a very beautiful sloth !
I really like this charming face, the pose, proportions, colours..
and I am very happy, that we have our first male sloth.
On your last photo , with the Papo female, they look really nice together :)
I only don`t like very much these ''naive'' light grey markings especially visible on the arms , but also all over the coat,
which Collecta likes to use some times on some models .. I think without them will be better.
But it is a wondeful model and I will definitely get it !

I just got this fellow and I have to say, it is very beautiful model on real.
Collecta did a great job with our first male . Well done Collecta !
It has very nice proportions, very nice detailes, nice painjob and to me, the size is just perfect

Well, he is big, but I would not call him huge ;-)
Sure , I will try see if I can find the Mojo sloth. He is hiding in the jungle here in the house somewhere

What a wonderful sloth. Unfortunately, I already have the species made by Papo. MOJO made the Linne's Sloth, Safari the Hoffmann's one and because of the fur colour and the small size, the Schleich one could be a Monk/Dwarf Sloth...
