These birds were premiums (for Arena and Bisco french brands of biscuits). What species according to you?:

being a French company, probably just common cranes with some artistic license in the painting. However, with the pale neck, they could probably stand in for sandhill cranes

what they look like doesn't mean that's what they were intended to represent. A European company, especially of that era, is more likely to make European species.

As widukind, I know these figures as Azur. I even have those cranes (as Brolga) in my searchlist study

If those animals were made in Hong-Kong or Macao as Prior, the painting could be something far from European species. At that era French brands made and sold more exotic animals than European species.
