I think they usually reveal their stuff in November then have stuff released on their site by Christmas. At least that’s how I got their figures the past few years, not sure if this year will be different. _________________ Jolie

That’s how it was pre-pandemic. |

| Dear Sts Friends:
Hey guys, I too am wondering about the safari 2022 releases. At this point, they are i think coming out with stuff but I have no idea what any of it is. So your guess is as good as mine. Anyway, for those of you who need a bit of reassurance, the new releases are indeed coming, but nobody knows when. And basically that's all I know.
Aschuck
P.S. Hey, whoever suggested that indian giant squirrel, that would be so cool if they made it. Great idea!

Preferably, the plain paint jobs of the existing figures should be updated.

Well, today, I was ordering from Safari, and I asked them, on behalf of us collectors, if they were indeed doing new products for 2022. They said yes, they were, and that they didn't know what the products were, but that they were working on ideas for 2022. And that's about the only info I can give you all right now, because I have no idea what they (Safari, I mean), are up to. Oh well, in the meantime, we can still dream. Anyway, I'm so glad somebody opened this topic. I mean, now we get to dream about news for 2022. That's wonderful, in my opinion. And it's good that Safari has made it through this whole pandemic thingy too. It just goes to show that not all these things have turned out bad. That of course depends on how you view this pandemic. Oh well, think what you want, but as for me, Safari doing things in 2022 is great news.
Now here is my wishlist:
Prehistoric World: Dodo, More prehistoric Mammals, and other prehistoric things.
Mythical realms: Female bigfoot, Female Yeti, Dwarves, Sasquatch or bigfoot baby.
Toobs: Mushrooms, Dwarves designer toob, Another musical instruments toob, Mermaid family toob, Rocks and minerals toob.
Wildlife Wonders: Red Kangaroo, ostrich, Fennec Fox, Koala, Platypus, Llama.
Incredible Creatures: Darwin's moth, Mole, Swallowtail Butterfly.
Sea Life: Elephant seal, Seahorse baby trio. Parrotfish, Angelfish, Electric eel, Narwhal, Lobster.
And that's the list that I have. I really do hope that they consider these suggestions, because a fennec fox for Wildlife Wonders would be such a cool figure. Also, I almost forgot, for wildlife Wonders, a bactrian and or Dromedary camel, Babirusa, Muskox, and Emu. Anyway, let me know if you hear anything about the things for 2022. I'll be waiting here on the forum, so please keep me posted.
Anyway, thanks in advance,

| I really would like a small mammals TOOB. I don't have a specific list of animals I would want, but some unique species like mongooses, squirrel species, moles, small mustelids, small bats, hyraxes, small primates, etc. I think safari could be really creative with this idea and bring us some animals we've never seen in toy form before. _________________ Always looking for new species

| At this point, Safari is weeks away from revealing their 2022 lineup. Anything new posted here won’t be a remote possibility until 2023. |

Most of the things in this thread are a remote possibility period. Given the current state of things regarding animal replicas, I'd say most of the things in this thread aren't even a remote possibility - even in our wildest dreams. One glance at Amazon, eBay, or any other similar site, and you are bombarded with bootlegs and cheap knockoff figures like never before. Some of the bootlegs are even on par with (or better!) than the quality of the official figure. Some offer more realistic colors or different species; regardless, at the rate the official figures are being bootlegged, it will not take long for all of our beloved companies to shift their focus to other ventures or go out of business. Further, look in almost any zoo or aquarium gift shop and you can see that there is not a lot of love for high quality replicas. Plush/stuffed/cartoony toys, cheap novelties, and cars & trucks dominate the children's areas of gift shops. Gone are the amazing displays of replicas.... or even the cheap animal toys that were staples in the past. Safari has moved more and more into distribution this past year over production of new figures. They are opening up a new, brick-and-mortar store in their new home city. Their focus appears to be on other ventures than producing bootleggers' next big sellers. |
