Wow what a fantastic repaint! cheers cheers
Such an amazing transformation, and these models look quite small- you must have had to fit in so much detail onto such a tiny figure! Applause Applause
It's wonderful to see how a simple model can be turned into a beauty! cheers cheers
EDIT: And the lioness too is incredible! Very Happy

Thank you Susane, Adam and Jean-Luc! :)

Adam, the stripes of zebra and tiger are carved on the original models so I just had to follow them to keep the vintage patern! :)

Great repaints. I never understood why these figures were called Premium, but after you have repainted them, I understand. It looks like the Starlux zebra is the same size as the Britains , or is that because the Starlux is closer to the camera?

They look really cool!

I think the polar bears has got to be my favourite! The repaint is so much more elegant then the polar bears of most of the major brands cheers

Thank you Roger!.. all the publicitary figurines are called "Premiums" I suppose.. and yes, the Starlux zebra is the same size as the Britains.

It's also the one I prefer. These premiums were of very few value but in my far childhood, I had noticed some showed good sculpting: the polar bear, the lioness, the bison, the giraff.. and that's why I tried to rehabilitate them by adding colours.

thank you AJ! :)

each figurine exists in 2 sizes:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here the tiger, like the zebra above, is the same size as the Starlux (on the left) or the Clairet.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The other size is much smaller and rather difficult to paint with my poor brushes!

In English, a "premium figure" would normally mean a "high quality figure" (I think, but I am not a native speaker of English either). Perhaps not in French, but once you have repainted them, they certainly are high quality!

Oh yes I know what means "premium" usually and I don't know why figurines found in washing-powder cans are so called but I realy thank you for the compliment Roger! :)

maybe the washing-powder was premium?  or the fact you got an animal figure as an extra was what made it premium scratch

In Danish "premie" means prize , - something you win .
It is probably the same in German, - perhaps also in French ? study

Laughing Laughing Direct translation can be dangerous !!!
Once at a party in USA I thought that "light" beer was the same as "let" ( Let = light) beer in Danish : With almost no alcohol !
Yuk, my poor head next day pale geek Laughing

Yes Susane, in French, "prime" means " something more" or "something you win"! :)

Thank you for your help A-J! :)

I just had the small model of the lioness and I used it like puma because before the one from Starlux( that I never liked to much!) we had none!

Thank you Christophe! :)
