| Hi, Has anybody ever seen the old, white duck 13002 without grass ? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here is a photo of the one I mean, in Gascher`s book and on an old leaflet + the versions I have, - but they both have a "nest" of grass |

| There are even two differents at the ducks with grass. At one the grass and the duck are two things (the brightly green) and at the other (the darker green) it is only one thing. |

| Shortly after I joined the forum, I asked if the duck 13002 really exists without grass, because I had never seen one..it does, and not long after I was lucky to find it. Peter told us the one with grass was made in two variants, one where the grass was glued on, and one where duck and grass were moulded in one. So I looked and looked an looked at my "grass ducks", but could not see they were glued on. A short time ago when I got some New-Rays (foxes, wolf etc) there was a Schleich duck with grass, but so miserable that I just put it aside : Dirty, chipped and full of what looked like marks from a permanent marker. As it is I don`t often throw figueres away, so I tried to clean it, - and discovered, that HERE it was The duck 13002 with the grass glued on So now I have spent a LONG time cleaning it, I can`t get it any better, but there are still those darned purple marks that are impossible to remove. Never mind, I may be a nerd ( probably am ), but I love this little old duck [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Perhaps you can see it ? It is not easy to make a photo, but by the duck to the right the grass is made from green plastic The cut in the plastic is even useful, it makes it easier to see :)

| Looks like you cleaned it up pretty well Susanne! How fantastic that you found the one with the glued on base _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Thanks, Harriet Yes, the old figueres can take a lot more cleaning than the newer ones, - the paint is much stronger, - it probably contains stuff that nobody would have anywhere near children these days I will have to tell the dogs Then they surely won`t eat the old ones The paint was more shiny then, - or perhaps it is just a question of fashion |

I think so, I have never seen it before. Perhaps they had a leftover stock of ducks without grass and made some extra grass for them to make them fit a newer range ???? But I hope some of the other Schleich-nerds can tell more Edited : PS, it looks like even the Strassbergers don`t have it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Edited2 : But Torben does [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Congrats, Susanne, on the beautiful 13002 variants. There are indeed two variants with grass, and another way to tell them apart is by the different shades of green painted on the grass base. |

| Congratulation. Schleich only changed the producing process. Because it is quicklier to paint the grass green and dont take glue, because it is one piece.
I think the rest of the permanent marker you could get away with brush cleaner ore Aceton (fingernail cleaner). On the white rubber it doesn`t matter. You only must be careful with the yellow paint. |

| Thankyou very much, Peter I did use nailpolish-remover, lots of it, but it does not contain acetone, so perhaps that why I could not get the last stains off. I am not sure I can find acetone out here, I must ask my son to get some for me in the big city where he lives |

| Some times acetone can damage the paint job, depending on the kind of paint used on the model. So I don´t reccomend you using acetone to clean your models :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

Yes, it is only for the part that has not been painted, in this case the white part |
