The proverb is very true! Let me show you a few more. Sorry, Rogério, nothing I’d like to give away yet, as this is an especially good lot: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Two new sculpts for my collection, a Hanoverian and a Quarter Horse: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Hanoverian isn’t painted in the best possible way, it would have been better if the white had some more shading. It’s a Mystery Horse Surprise from 2018 (sculpt 2010). Hanoverians don’t normally have much white, so we need to imagine that this one is a different breed. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Quarter Horse sculpt isn’t so exciting, but I like the colours of this one. The shading of the blue dun/grullo is very well done. It’s from a JCPenney catalogue and was released in 2010, also the year the sculpt was first released. It’s a strikingly long horse. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I didn’t buy this lot so much for the new sculpts, but more for new colours of sculpts I already had. First of all, here is another beautiful Valegro (Mystery Foal Surprise 2018-20, sculpt 2016). I like the way they have painted the flea bite spots and the grey shading. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Objectively, it’s probably painted better than my bay Valegro, but as you know, I am rather fond of bay. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Another Andalusian. This one is from a Horse and Foal set from 2003-2006 (sculpt 1998). I like it too! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They are very different horses, but the Andalusian's pose is very similar to Valegro's: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I am very happy with the Andalusian sculpts I have managed to collect. Four in total, which is probably the right number. They all have very different colours and I really like all these colours. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Finally, a Warmblood Jumper. It looks like the perfect, idealised horse. Very good-looking, almost too perfect. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It’s meant to be a Dutch warmblood and was sold between 2009 and 2011 (sculpt 2006). It’s only my second Warmblood jumper. The other one is palomino. They are both good, but I think you can guess which one is my favourite. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Oooh that Valegro is so pretty! Both of them, really nice! You're making me really want to start looking for these newer stablemates. (I also was struck by how LONG that quarter horse is. Her face sticks way out past everyone else on the shelf. ) |

| I am glad you're not giving me your figures. A long time ago, when I acquired my first Stablemate, just for curiousity, I loved it so much that it was hard for me to find excuses to not get more. They're not my collecting univers at all but I ended acquiring another because it was from a different generation, other more because it was a beloved breed... and suddenly I was in troubles. There's a certain refinement on those figures and they result quite attractive. It is not easy to resist and get just a few ones. So, I stopped completely. Now, I enjoy seeing them in your collection and you always present them so nicely. Look at the Andalusian quartet! By the way, your new Andalusian has that charm we have been witnessing on modern toys these last years. Fortunately it is not excessive and the final result is delicious. |

| I hadn't noticed how amazingly similar the poses for Mini Valegro and the G2 Andalusian were, not til seeing them side by side in your photos. That really shows up the differences in the artists' styles, the body and musculature are handled so differently, and while Valegro has a much, much more handsome head, the Andalusian wins best feet! The bay jumping horse is my favourite colour on that mould so far, he's very bright and rich with lovely shading, and looks even better because he comes from the era of masked markings, so he has proper realistically crisp white socks, not just faded out spray like they do now. The Quarter Horse is also nice, I haven't seen it in that colour before and it suits well. I do like that mould, despite the fact it has far too thick legs for being a QH - but I still have mine listed as that, cos I haven't ever come up with anything better Thinking about it, perhaps they'd work nicely as draft cross, those are popular leisure and trail horses for people who want something a big bigger and heavier than a stock breed or sport type. And most of the heavy horses used for crossing in the US don't have feathering, so you would get a stocky leg like that without adding fluffy heels.

| Thanks a lot! - thebritfarmer wrote:

Sizewise, some work better as 1/32 scale than others. In this lot, the Analusian, Valegro and the Warmblood jumper have good sizes, but the Hanoverian and Quarter Horse probably a bit too large. Britains tended to make their horses slightly too small (except for the Welsh cob and thoroughbred from the 1990s), whereas the Stablemates are often a bit too large. If size is important and you are looking for a particular Stablemate, I could tell you what the size is. - Roger wrote:

I hope the Andalusian considers that a compliment . I wonder how I'd feel if someone told me I had beautiful feet . Thanks, Jill, Susanne, Paige and Taylor for your comments! |

| My first Collectibull! It’s “Jumpstart” from the Rodeo set made between 2013 and 2018. The box in which it came is itself very beautiful, like a mini diorama: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The main attraction is Jumpstart of course, full of dynamism, looking good from all sides: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Taylor and Paige had posted several size comparison photos on the forum that were very useful for me to decide whether I wanted Jumpstart. Is he 1:32 scale? Well, it’s hard to measure either his shoulder height or length, so best to compare him with another bull, the Breyer Hereford, which is 4.9 cm (157 cm in 1:32 scale) at the shoulder. They look about equally large. It looks as if Jumpstart may have longer legs, but that may well be because they are stretched out. Rodeo bulls have a similar weight (1200-2000 pounds) to Herefords, so I assume they are quite similar in size too. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And yes, another Appaloosa model. But that’s OK, they are always good and I like the cowboy too. | Congrats! Jumpstart was my last because I thought he was the least attractive of them all. But upon seeing him in person he is a very handsome figure. I mainly bought Jumpstart because he came with a rider; bucking bulls are meant to be ridden even though they themselves clearly disagree. |

| Some new action to your collection. I think the size of the flying bull works nicely. I know you love going to the milimeter but it is also important they look nice together even if the exact measurements are doubtful. |

| I think they make a nice set - and it's good idea to combine the themes for a wider appeal : you've got horses, which Breyer are best known for and most of their target audience are already collecting, with bull riding as a sport, which I imagine isn't quite such a widespread interest even in the USA. So this way they get sales in both directions, as well as the few who are the crossover in that Venn diagram and are already into both things.
Is Jumpstart made of the same plastic as the horse, or the Hereford? I've got a few of the Stablemate animals and it rather surprised me that they're made from something different to the horses in the range.

| Jumpstart is indeed made of a different plastic, I think PVC. |

Yes, I could loosen the wires on the underside of the box without damaging anything. |
