| Some poses are problematic, better to change it than having loads of figures getting broken. It is a pity because the prototype pose was nicer but surely it is a nice American flamingo model even with a simpler pose. You are in pink mode. |

| I got curious and just had to ask Google about the old pose and the new one, I agree it's a shame they had to change it. The angle of the body seems to be different too (tilted more upright, so the chest is higher and the bum is lower, and the neck has notably less S-bend to compensate) which I don't understand - if the legs needed to be thicker and standing square for stability, couldn't they have just added new legs under the old body? |

| Thank you all regarding the flamingo. He is handsome in pink! I got a little time to adjust some displays. Got creative and made some space for reptiles and kitties. I work at an office supply store and we had some paperwork sorters on clearance. Snagged them, cut em to fit, and they work great for my snakes! Ignore the dust. | What a perfect way to display snakes, so many fit in these little stacks and it gives them just enough room for every layer to be nicely visible. |

| Thanks George! That was the purpose, to free up a little space/use it more efficiently but still be able to see them in case I need to grab them. :) _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Lovely displays and so organized! I love the paper sorters for the snakes, its a perfect way to display them! I also adore the small black shelves on the side with all the colorful chameleons Also if you don't mind me asking, what alligator is this? It looks really realistic! This is a figure I am also very tempted to get but i have to resist because I have the Papo and CollectA and those are more than enough but it is undoubtful the realistic touch of this model. | Thank you everyone! Andreas, I will try to post the snakes as soon as possible. :) Here is the Wild Republic coyote. Not the best model for one, especially considering his poor broken front leg, but coyotes are fairly rare in this hobby. | This would be a perfect candidate for a repaint I find it odd that coyotes aren't seen much in toy form, as far as big brands go only Safari has made some. Although they did a great job with an adult and pup so I can't complain, but it would be nice to have a small pack Great photos! _________________ Jolie

| I agree, brilliant idea for displaying snakes! They look great, and are so hard to show off normally. Your shelves as always are beautiful, real exhibition look to all of them. It's always nice to get a peak. |

| TAW tells coyotes are as common as fennecs in toy shape what means they're not common. However, fennecs turned popular recently and coyotes are famous for a long time from Western movies and I don't know how popular is Beep Beep's friend. I think the fact that coyotes are very similar to wolves puts them to a second plan, if they were pink, I am sure they'd be more popular as toy figures. Excluding the Safari models, the closest we can get from other major brands is the Papo golden jackal which could be turned into a coyote with a subtle touch. |

| Here's something I've been curious about for a while - how is coyote pronounced in different countries? Cos I'm pretty sure my English-accented inner voice just read the title sounding quite different to how it did in your head when you wrote it I've always known it as koy-oh-tee, so that first syllable rhymes with 'toy', but more recently I've heard it in some nature documentaries sounding more like ky-oh-tee, first syllable to rhyme with 'tie' instead. And I just don't see how you get a ky sound with an O in there! But I wonder if it depends on the nationality of the narrator, and rather than being a mistake or something to get confused over, we're actually supposed to say it differently here - like if you hear Attenborough say jaguar or sloth (jag-you-ah, slowth) it's not the way they're pronounced in other countries, but it's their correct name in the UK. So yeah, now I'm wondering how coyote sounds to everyone reading this thread, from all your different countries and many with different first languages! |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it's kie-oh-tee around here and that's far and away the most common at least in the southeast US, but I have definitely heard Americans also pronounce it coy-oh-tee (the predictable way, considering the spelling). The more common variation I have heard, though, is kie-ote or coy-ote, only two syllables with no "ee" at the end. So every way you can reasonably assume that word could be pronounced, it is, and I think it's regional rather than having any one correct way to say it. Professionally, at least, we call ours kie-oh-tees. |

| I am from the UK (been in Canada 32 years now) and it is the same Ki oh tee. I was watching a nature programme the other day and the narrator was English and he said Koy 0h tee and I thought jeez he sounds weird? LOL Over here they say War wick as we(UK) say Warrick. So many different pronunciations and even spellings, for the most part Canada spells like the UK but speaks like the US. |

| Thank you everyone! I didn't realize this rather plain model would generate such interest in pronunciation and popularity. I have heard it all when it comes to pronunciation of this animal. It sort of reminds me of how different regions in the US use different names for cougars (some 40 different words if I remember correctly). For me though, they are cougars or mountain lions, and I pronounce this canine as kie-oh-tee myself. :) _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | This is a lovely model! I say 'koy-oh-tee' as it seems the other UK members do, but it's interesting to read about the different pronunciations around the world! |
