Got fish? I do!

Finally got around to taking pictures of one of my newest acquisitions. Let me start by saying that I'm not really a marine animals person, and as such haven't really looked at models like this before. Still - aren't these way above average for cheapies? And these are cheap - the bag, containging 35 models, cost about half the price of a Safari toob. They're about the size of toob models (the humpback whale is about 5 cm long. )

Sea cucumber! Snails! Jellyfish! It's so cool to see the non-charismatic animals as models for a change.

There's a leafy seadragon too, but he's in the process of being repainted. As you can see they're all pretty sloppily painted, but all have plenty of potential. Loads of detail too, all the whales even have blowholes. Yikes, I'm not turning into a sealife person as well..?

...Congrats! I like especially Sea cucumber, Jellyfish, crab, shells... I have some toobe shells by unknown (for me) brand (marked on the pic).

There is even a cod, and what we call a sea-sausage, and a clam, I think, - they are just great

There are some wonderfull species between them...
Yes, 2 species of sea-lions, one is probably a male Californian sealion, the other one a male furr-seal, but which species is hard to tell...

Is there an ichthyologist in the house? Could someone please identify the sharks (well, apart from the bullhead and hammerhead) and fish for me? I want to repaint them, but as I don't know which species I'm looking at I'm having trouble finding references.

Well, i am one of the ichthyologists around here, but not specialized in marine species, but freshwater species...

But besides that, the manufacturers take their freedom to make the species as they want, so it is always hard to say which real species they are...
But maybe Phil can help you on those marine-species???

I have those too! Nobody beats my fish collection. I almost have everything. I know where to get 98% of it. Just some more fish to go.
