Currently, the Grouper from the K&M Kelp Forest tube is tentatively considered an Atlantic Goliath Grouper on TAI, but that species is not connected to the California kelp forests. Perhaps it represents a very imperfect and inaccurate Giant Sea Bass which, although not a Serranidae, is grouper-like and is one of the more famous species of the Pacific kelp forest. Perhaps it was called “grouper” because the mold is directly recycled from the Coral Grouper from the earlier Coral Reef Tube with just a few adjustments to the marks.
