2021 CollectA Common Otter Walkaround 88941 With Comparisons

Today I received 4 figures from CollectA's 2021 wild life line: The common otter, koala, male kangaroo, and Darwin's frog.

This otter is the same size as CollectA's older one, which I wish was smaller. I do however, love the detail and pose on this figure. The face is very cute without looking cartoony and I love its curved pose with the raised paw. I can't wait to see what CollectA comes up with for next year

Wonderful walkaround, I love this Otter, everything from the pose with the little raised paw to that sweet face and fur detailing- it reminds me a lot of the style Schleich had at its peak! It is better than I expected. It doesn't match the traditional otter toy design we are used with but it looks like a piece to put in a pedestal in the middle of the Otter Square. No, I don't mean it is static like a statue, I mean it has a kind of dignity traditional of noble sculptures. Not easy to get it with an otter. It also favours the mustelid look of the animal and not exactly its cuteness. Again, looks like a resin sculpture for grown up people and not exactly as a toy. The level of detail seems to be the best of ever to this particular species, the sculpting style looks also ssimilar to the new koala.

Better than I expected too, but I'll probably stick with the Papo version for the foreseeable future.

I like this model a lot but since I already have the one from Papo, I don't plan to order it soon.. Thank you for this useful walkaround!

Under my expectations this time, but the promo pic was too beautiful. Still very good, the best otter available right now and maybe the only model from locally unavailable brands I will buy this year. I shall easily pair it with my Schleich.

Well, for my tast, it doesn't really fit the CollectA style. It's a good model, but nothing outstanding. I really wished for a giant otter.
