| Remains of the Composition/ Masse still to be found in the fairy-tail stuff, and the cover had farm animals but there were none in the catalogue itself. Thanks Babdo - mine only has 40 pages, and is tri-lingual, without the DM prices in the margin, so an export version which didn't include the animals I fear? Certainly the staples are tight and the overall condition is good. Yours must be the domsetic German catalogue? Are the covers the same? _________________ Small Scale World Airfix Figures Facebook - Hugh Walter eBay - smallscaleworld

Was the 6305 Buffalo or any of these wild animals ever produced in plastic? I prefer plastic over composition since it doesn't break easily and is durable. |

| Some were produced in plastic, but not all. The African buffalo wasn't, as far as I am aware. TAW shows catalogue pages of all the 70 mm plastic wildlife animals: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]There was also a 54 mm plastic series with scaled-down figures: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Hausser's shift from composite to plastic is actually a bit more complicated than that. In the 60s Hausser will launch a production of plastic animals on the scale of animals in composition (Chialù will do the same in Italy). These models are very very rare and therefore very very expensive, there is unfortunately little documentation on the subject. Perhaps the owners of Ulrich Raue's books could enlighten us on this. In the 1966 catalog, we see that the plastics and the compositions come together. The first page represents the first animals of the 70mm series while the following three pages are traditionnal composition ones. Models 6200, 6208, 6301 and 6375 will be made of plastic. I own the 6278 model in plastic but I don't know if it is a copy made by Chialù or a Hausser. So for the 6305 buffalo, it's possible that Hausser made some in plastic but that's not sure. Something tell me I saw one once on ebay a long time ago. If this is the case, the production must have been very limited and therefore finding such a model requires a lot of luck and a lot of money. The production in composition stops completely in 1969 and gives way to the 54 and 70mm series which Roger tells us about. Ther is already a discussion about this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Hello, yes indeed it is complicate to collect HAUSSER animals, for me too. Here an other hind in the catalog/news of 1967 about the size and the material of HAUSSER animals. Benno. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

Interesting information! I guess you are saying that 6200, 6208, 6301 and 6375 were made as 70 mm figures (rather than 54 mm), right? I am going to look out for the elephant, though I think it will probably be unaffordable. |

| Some were made in 54mm, some in 70mm. The elephant was made in both scale. The 54mm one is a bit smaller, but not so much, than the Britains elephant bull. I will try to make a pic soon. |

Hello smallscaleworld, I think the reason of the difference of 20 pages are the result of 20 pages of german children toys like bicycles and games and so on, nothing of our interesst I thing. Hello Roger, I am sorry but I have only the Hauser-catalog of 1966. And as shown in the beginning of this thread this catalog show farm animals on two pages and wild animals on 6 pages. The rest of the catalog shows human figures of different ages and buildings, castels and so on. The last pages shows toys for children. Benno. |

| Thank you, Benno. I am a bit confused because the 1967 catalogue you showed is different from the 1967 cataloguehere. Is it possible that the catalogue you showed is the 1967 "Neuheiten" catalogue? If that's the case, then that would tell us that most of the plastic animals (both 70 and 54 mm scale) were introduced in 1967. |

| Thanks, that makes sense. These animals didn't appear in the 1967 catalogue, but they were presumably introduced in the course of 1967 and therefore appear in the NEW MODELS 1967 catalogue. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They are indeed also listed in the 1968 catalogue. |
