| The Eikoh models are so small, that it can be hard to see how well sculptured and well painted they really are. So a couple of close-ups can reveal details that otherwise go un-noticed. Or, perhaps that is only me ? Because when I took some pictures of this little birdie, I was surprised how neat he really is Here he is with his new friends here : AAA, Albert Heijn , Noah's Pals,Eikoh, Safari, and Papo During his young life he has been teased because he is blue, so now he found a good friend in the Padodo who is also quite colourful And now a small walkaround : A behind which could be popular on the beach of Copacabana PS: The little Albert Heijn Dodo unfortunately flew away after the picture was taken. I fear that he has been eaten by the Vacuum Monster by now. Should anybody have a double, I would love to buy it _________________ SUSANNE |

| The other dodos just tease him because they are jealous of his looks. He looks good and who knows what colour dodos really were. Have you opened your vacuum cleaner? It can be a treasure trove of lost things . |

| I found my mole bone in the hoover dust once, it wasn't quite the same colour as when it went in but it was fine!
The dodos are a lovely selection, such a variety of styles, and it's nice so many companies have made a figure of this sad and famous species. I wonder why they're so often shown as blue (in cartoons as well as these miniatures), when all contemporary accounts and art told them as grey? _________________ |

| Surely these top quality pictures are important for me since I am quite poor sighted. Your topics are always a big help. I like the colors of Padodo, I never understood why pijeons are normally blue, they look all grey to me but the fact is that experts tell they are blue so why not dodos? Also, even if lead looks grey to me, there's a blue called lead blue. I should never talk about colors. Grey pijeons are blue when they're not white but white horses are grey and some grey horses are blue roan. I love the Copacabana detail, Brazil is color and joy, I think it is fun. Ah, I learned today that dodos are not flightless, at least the smallest one can fly. |

| The Eikoh Dodo is truly beautiful and your collection too Susanne I hope you will find your Heijn soon. I lost my Kaiyodo Dodo somewhere between Asia and France, a parcel I pay and never get... About Dodo colours here is something funny: US Wikipedia: It has been depicted with brownish-grey plumage, yellow feet, a tuft of tail feathers, a grey, naked head, and a black, yellow, and green beak. French Wikipedia: Its body with gray blue plumage was equipped with atrophied yellow and white wings, as well as a plume of four or five feathers of the same colors as a tail. Its yellow paws had four toes (three in front and one in back) ending in large black nails. Its hooked beak had a characteristic blue spot on its tip and a red one on the lower mandible. Its black or gray head had two prominent folds at the base of the beak. So maybe the female were US wiki like and the male French wiki like ?

| the thing is, we really don't have a really good idea about what it looked like overall; if I remember correctly, it went extinct so fast before an adequate number of specimens could be preserved or accurate artistic renditions made. |
