| Dragonflies are so extremely underrepresented in figure forms, that is a very refreshing new. Blaine will be happy. Maybe all of them can be new species in animal toy world? _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| Only # 05 is new; the other four species were produced by Yujin in the Insects of Japan series, and A. sieboldii has been made several times.
This appears to be follow-up to last year's 1:1 Primary Mimetic Insects Collection |

| The 1/1 scale is a good news for me, I would love to catch one at least especially Rhyothemis fuliginosa.

... and I am almost sure the Anax parthenope is the species I used to find constantly during my childhood. It can be maybe the commonest hawker dragonfly in Iberian peninsula, together with A. imperator and Aeshna mixta. But my impression is that the two latter are more restricted to natural habitats, while A. parthenope supports better the urban environments. This nice specimen went to a light trap in a entomological trip I did previous year: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ My collection:- (Details):

Those were creatures I used to watch 40 years ago and dragonflies were just dragonflies, I was not aware at the time about different species. I can't remember their colors, what I remember is seeing them flying like helicopters over watering holes and suddenly performing those vertiginous dives. I lived in a place in the suburbes of a village and close to a natural park. I probably watched more than one species but I don't think the usual ones were emperors. |
