My Schleich 2023 Additions

Hello everyone,
As most of us, I was disappointed in the latest development in the Schleich animal series in the recent years and bought very few items for my collection.
But 2023 line-up grabbed my attention with at least 10 interesting models and decided to get them from MPV as soon as they come out.

The package came to Bulgaria just before New Year's eve and, eventually, as some are still not what I wanted to see, there are these, that I really like and I am happy that they are under my still all-time favorite brand Schleich:

1) The Harpy Eagle (14862) - although not very exquisite in making, he's got a lovely expression








2) The Abyssinian Cat (13964) - surprisingly nice (for the deteriorating cats series)




3) The Thompson Gazelle (14861) - good looking gazelle "mix", firmly standing






4) The Indian Rhino Baby (14860) - cutie






Couple of more childish than preferred, but not bad dog models - Great Dane (13962) and Bichon Frise (13963)






Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with much anticipated model from any brand  - the Caracal :






To conclude, I am overall happy with my own new year's presents and will continue to keep an eye on upcoming releases.

Maria, it is wonderful to see you posting back on forum. Schleich assortment for 2023 is very interesting even if the quality of some models is not as good as it was many years ago. Though, some pieces look really nice like the gazelle for instance. I'm also very excited about the caracal. It could be better but I believe many of us will get it until a more realistic one is released. Sometimes a species takes too long to be released by a company and after it we start seeing other renditions in the market. This time it was Schleich opening way for a new species among major brands and that's really positive.
I intend to get a few of these, it is great to enjoy your pictures and I even plan to get the Bichon Frisé although I'd rather the tongue was not sticking out.

Huh...when Megaptera posted his caracal, I was happy it didn't have the 'grin' that promo pics had. But this one has the grin/smirk. Mine is in the mail; I guess time will tell how it looks...

Wonderful new additions! Lovely to see the Bichon Frise, looks much better than I expected! Almost has a similar style to some of the Japanese models!

Congratulations and thank you for sharing photos with us! The Abyssinian cat has a really nice paintwork, I'd probably buy this one as a cat collector, but I'm not. The Thompson Gazelle looks good as well, and I love this rhino baby, interesting pose and overall look. Good year for Schleich! Especially when you compare this year figures with the ones from last previous years.

Congratulatuions for these good newcomers! I am impatient to find the caracals and thomson gazelles here!

The Dane doesn't work for me, but the Bichon is really quite nice. Since it's a 'cutesy' breed, their current style works, and the hair texture is well done. The Abby cat is good too., and I really like the rhino calf.
