Chap Mei Mandrill and Striped Hyena

Chap Mei are a class of their own, - they do not pretend to be accurate, - they make the spirit of the animal, - and not always the nicest part of the spirit  

Of course they were never sold in Denmark. And to find them on Ebay is very hard because the name of the brand is written with tiny letters, so sellers rarely know what they are, only write "made of plastic" or something like that .

But this year I have succeeded to get two  

Today the mailman brought me the mandrill, - he is...hmmm    is awesome the word  

Some time ago I was lucky to score the Hyena from Torben`s collection, - here they are, my new wild and mad little friends

It obviously takes some time for these two to find the pecking order here

But after a while I dared to let the `drill meet his new tribe

From left to right : Bullyland, Chap Mei, Safari and Papo  

Bullyland has made (at least ?) one more mandrill, with a banana in his hand.
Unfortunately I have never seen him for sale, - but I am still hoping

Here they have to live together, just like dogs and cats

I do have a striped hyena more, - only he lost an ear. Maybe he came too close to a mandrill
He looks very happy to have forund his big cousin, doesn`t he ?

Yes, he looks very happy, maybe the new cousin will help him to keep the other ear!

I THINK the little hyena is lineol...

My knowledge if these wonderful old ones is almost non-existent

I do have that agressive looking mandrill to, and he does scare the other mandrills in the collection, because he is not only fearsome, but big to...
But i still miss this striped hyena, so i must work on that....

Your mandrill family is nice to see, almost like mine...
They seem to sit on different kinds of soil, as their bottoms have different colours, or maybe the Safari one got spanked or so, haha.

I really like the Chap Mei concept of their playsets(Jungle Trek, Jungle Adventure etc.). With some repainting/customizing they could be even better. But for what they are, they're just cool, I don't know what it is?

Yes, I think Cool is what they are
But it would be a shame to repaint them, then they would not be Chap Mei any more
Plenty of others for repainting, I think . Some that aren`t so hard to get hold of, - or is it only in Denmark, they are rare ?
