| My latest acquisition: Safari's jumbo moose (Wildlife Wonders) Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, I used my phone, not my camera. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I just love it. Moose are one of the most majestic ungulates, and mammals, ever created. And at least, unlike my wapiti, his four legs are standing on the ground

| Thank you everybody. My collection is still very humble, but slowly growing (around 150 toy models now). Since I'm not really a collector, I don't accumulate figurines, and I limit myself to the models still available in the market, most often cetaceans and ungulates, with a few exceptions as you will see. Don't expect to find old and rare stuff, as my passion started only recently. New World... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]...and Old World deer (all from Collecta except for the moose which is a Schleich) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Whale shark & young (Papo), leatherback turtle (Papo).and basking shark (Collecta) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A Pandinus imperator (Bullyland) faces an Androctonus australis (Papo). The little sculpted scorpion between them is lying on amber from the Baltic sea. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Somewhere in Angola, a warthog family (Schleich) meets a couple of giant sable antelopes (Collecta) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thanks. The Mojö Fun is not bad either. But I don't like Schleich's model at all. |

| That gint sable / warthog meeting is much probably in Cangandala. They're doing a great job t preserve the giant sable antelope. |

| When I started collecting animal toy figures six months ago only (I previously bought some whale and dolphin replicas in the 2000's and 2010's), I swore by Collecta only. This brand comes second to none when it comes to create obscure species or even subspecies (well, on some occasions a bit too obscure, hello dead blobfish ) in toy shape. And their ungulates, especially those made in the last decade, are pure masterpieces with a meticulous paintjob. In my humble opinion, models from Papo were too generic or common/mundane (as well as too European-centered). Schleich figurines were sometimes too toyish and aimed at kids (instead of adult collectors). And to me, Safari's own creations were poorly painted compared to Collecta's (and also often North American-centered) But that was before I developed a crush on their Toob, Wildlife Wonders and above all, Incredible Creatures lines. That's how I began to adopt small critters too, sometimes at a 1.1 scale. Six months ago, I decided to focus on cetaceans and ungulates, and now I am also surrounded by arthropods, molluscs, fish, reptiles, birds, eulipotyphia, rodents/lagomorphs, carnivores and primates. Here are my last acquisitions: American alligator (Wildlife Wonders) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Anaconda and boa constrictor [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Albino Burmese python and emerald tree boa [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Eastern chipmunk and chinchilla [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Senegal bushbaby and squirrel monkey [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Leopard gecko, tuatara and crested gecko [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]California spiny lobster and Maine lobster [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Coming soon: Atlantic goliath grouper and blue crab, four-toed hedgehog and red-eared slider. It's a shame that the tokay gecko, the Nile monitor, the Gila monster and the Argentine horned (pacman) frog are nowhere to be found. I honestly think that Safari Ltd should release some of their long discontinued figures which aged well, perhaps with a new, more accurate paintwork, provided that they kept the molds. A new generation of kids would love playing with these realistic and educational toys. And collectors would be very thrilled to finally get their hands on these sought after models without getting broke.

| Congrats on the new additions! I adore Safari’s IC line. I have the Safari Tokay gecko, Nile monitor, Pac-Man frog. They are really great figures but they were so hard to find and not cheap. I’m currently looking for the Gila monster but saw it sell for almost $400 on eBay recently! Really crazy what some of the older models go for. I’d also love to find the whites tree frog and mudpuppy, but again those are very rare too. I’m sure many would be happy to have them available again (maybe not the people who already own them!) _________________ Jolie
