| Here are my AAA frogs,I didn't realise there were 3 sizes. The larger one and the middle one have a 1 marked on them. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Also the 2 middle sized frogs are slightly different and have two different numbers on the bottom. The one on the left has 3 and the other has 1 marked on them [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Those numbers often mean that they belong to sets with several frogs. Either it is a family or a lifecycle. I might merge this topic with our AAA Amphibians dedicated topic if you don't mind. These figures look Lithobates clamitans to me. |

You're welcome but don't take it as a definitive identification. American green frogs are just one of many species of common frogs which look almost identical. Though, I find these good matches for the American species with those grooves. Thanks for letting us to use the pictures but photos of individual models are more useful for TAW. |

| The shape let think about the Lithobates clamitans indeed with the body colours of the Pelophylax esculentus and the head paintings of the Hyla arborea |

| Yes, I think the identification of this figure gravitates between Pelophylax and Lithobates... eventually Rana. So, we can identify it confidently as a true frog. Despite the partial color similarities, I think we both agree it is not an European tree frog. Though, we all know the versatility used for AAA figures where lion sculpts are used for leopards or wild dogs as hyenas and so and we've discussing the way many brands use the same molds to represent different frog species. Namely the quartet of Papo poison frogs, the Safari trio of tree frogs and the more bizarre Mojo strawberry/red-eye... These common frogs show a different challenge to the poison dart frogs, while the latter show numerous morphs, we can always try to find a match for the most traditional color layout. Though, common frogs also show color variations, seasonal, regional, etc., and they are often quite similar between the different species. Nevertheless, due to the usual realistic approach of the AAA amphibians and reptiles, it is always fun trying to find the real animal which served as reference for their sculpts regardless of the colors applied. |

| Dear Sts Friends:
Speaking of frogs, the largest AAA frog I've seen, and which I have, is a large toad, about 9 inches. It really does grunt too. I do wish I could find more AAA frogs, for my frog household, but I guess that remains to be seen. Also, I'm on the hunt for a set of poison dart frogs by AAA, whose item number is: 22239. Yeah, I've been doing AAA research for months now. Anyway, not much is happening collection wise, so if anything changes, I'll let you know.
Sincerely,
Aschuck
